WACE 2027 Website & Registration are Coming Soon!

Join us in Sacramento at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento from February 21–24, 2027, as we come together to explore Capital Gains: Investing in People, Places, and Progress.

This year's theme reflects the heart of WACUHO, our work, and the communities we serve. It recognizes that our greatest impact comes from investing in the people who help our communities thrive, the places our students call home, and the progress that moves our profession forward.

As we gather in California's capital city, WACE 2027 will offer opportunities to celebrate the relationships and experiences that have shaped our work while looking ahead with purpose, innovation, and hope. Together, we'll explore how we can build welcoming and inclusive residential communities, strengthen our teams and institutions, and create meaningful experiences for the students we serve.

Whether you're a first-time attendee or a longtime WACE participant, we can't wait to welcome you to Sacramento for learning, connection, and inspiration.

We look forward to learning, growing, and investing in people, places, and progress alongside you.
We hope to see you in Sacramento!

WACUHO Host Site Call for WACE 2028 & 2029

Image description

Hello WACUHO Members,

The WACUHO Time & Place Committee and President-Elect are seeking potential host institutions for the WACE 2028 and WACE 2029 conferences. Is your campus interested in serving as a host site for one of these future conferences? We are also exploring the possibility of a no-host conference model held at a campus with a conference center and appropriate accommodations. Hosting WACE is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your institution, engage your staff in regional leadership, and contribute to the professional development of housing and residence life professionals across WACUHO. If you or your institution would like to learn more or express interest, please contact:

Time & Place Committee: [email protected]

President-Elect: [email protected]

We look forward to hearing from you and exploring potential partnerships for WACE 2028 and 2029!

Warm regards,

WACUHO Time & Place Committee

WACUHO President-Elect

After the Rush: Reconnecting With Yourself and Your Work

by Crystal Lay, WACUHO Member At Large - Professional Development

For housing and residence life professionals, the beginning of the academic year is rarely just a busy season. It is months of planning compressed into a few intense days. We prepare buildings, train staff, communicate with students and families, manage assignments, respond to last-minute changes, and solve problems in real time.

Then Move-In ends, and we are expected to keep going.
