This is a continual lesson for me: ‘less looking back, more living in the now’.
A long time ago, early in our married life my husband fell into a desperate battle to live, as he had heart failure. After a long four years, he received the gift of life, a heart transplant at the age of 30.
We all have our own stories of life's ups and downs that have affected us in one way or another, and it can be easy to keep looking back at them and dwelling on them, rather than looking forward. For me personally this is a challenge.
Some people have a positive experience of school, others are left carrying trauma; something said to you years ago can stay with you throughout your life. I was speaking to a lady in her 60s recently who told me she was still carrying something from her school days.
At Be Me our passion is to get young people to think positively about themselves and not dwell on their negative experiences. In this way they can build their lives with confidence, learning to navigate negative influences and enjoy ‘More living in the now’.
