From 1st September, our veg box and delivery prices will be changing.
We know that nobody likes price increases, so we'd like to be transparent about why we're making this change.
Our current veg box prices are:
Small (7 items): £13.25
Medium (8 items): £16.45
Large (9 items): £22.45
From 1st September, these will become:
Small (7 items): £15.75
Medium (8 items): £18.75
Large (9 items): £24.75
Even with these changes, the cost per item remains highly competitive:
Small box: £2.25 per item
Medium box: £2.34 per item
Large box: £2.75 per item
Growing our own crops and sourcing produce from trusted organic growers involves significant costs. Organic seed, labour, machinery, packaging, fuel and energy costs have all increased in recent years. While we have made only limited adjustments to our prices during that time, those increases have not kept pace with the true cost of producing and delivering organic vegetables.
Our delivery charge will also increase from £2.45 to £3.45. Although this represents a larger percentage increase, the charge has remained exceptionally low for many years and still does not fully cover the cost of bringing fresh organic produce to your door.
These changes are not about increasing profits. They are about ensuring that our veg box scheme remains viable, allowing us to continue growing organic food, supporting other organic growers, employing local people and delivering high-quality produce to our customers for years to come.
