"The online/offline format of this workshop was great - it was beneficial to have time online together to learn and then to pause and reflect to let the ideas ‘brew’ for a little and think about how we can implement these ideas and make changes to suit our learners."

"This workshop helped me better understand neuro-diverse students and realise that there are many strategies available to support these students to develop a love of languages."

Chinese Teaching Mentors Needed for UniMelb Secondary MTeach Placements

The University of Melbourne is seeking experienced secondary Chinese teachers to mentor first-year Master of Teaching students during their second school placement.

There is a current shortage of Chinese placement mentors across Victoria, and your support can make a real difference in preparing the next generation of language teachers.

We are seeking mentors for either of these 20-day placement blocks:

Term 3: 24 August to 18 September

Term 4: 2 November to 30 November

Pre-service teachers bring fresh energy, current curriculum knowledge, and a strong commitment to learning. With your guidance, they can build the classroom confidence and practical skills needed to thrive as future Chinese teachers.

Interested teachers should speak with their school’s Student Teacher Coordinator and ask them to contact the Faculty of Education Secondary Placement Team at [email protected].
