Communities: Shepherds for Greener Hills
|

No one can conserve the forest better than the locals living there. But without proper training, equipment, and awareness, communities are often left helpless to protect the very forests they depend on.
With that in mind, Arannayk Foundation works closely with local communities, engaging people across all age groups. Through our Beyond Borders: ITHCP Big Cat Project, we engaged students of Shapchari High School to nurture minds empathetic to nature. With proper training in conservation, the youth of the project's sites have grown into responsible conservation volunteers. To accelerate land restoration, we have also engaged locals and trained them in plantation, assisted natural regeneration, and enrichment plantation, through our "Scaling up Forest Landscape Restoration in Chittagong Hill Tracts (SFLR)" project.
