Our July walk will offer an historical insight to the many churches in the town, past and present (including several that may surprise you). We will look at the historical background and key characters involved, as well as the national picture, reflected in our town. |

| | Concert: Michael Lunts - The Enigma of Elgar |
|
Sunday 20th September, 3.00pm - please note the new date and time for this concert |
|
If you came along for Michael Lunts' Christmas Cracker during the Christmas Tree Festival, you'll know that he is a very talented performer. This will be a wonderful event. A very different genre this time:
A musical drama about Elgar, focusing on his relationship with his beloved wife Alice. The friends who inspired the famous ‘Enigma Variations’ are also brought to life as, following the death of Alice, Elgar’s senior by a number of years, the composer muses on the origins of that first acknowledged masterpiece, a work that put him on the musical map, and which may never have seen the light of day but for Alice’s encouragement and inspiration. |
