Google: Be Authentic To Win at GEO

Brendon Kraham, Google's VP of Search & Commerce Global Ads Solutions, shared his best advice on "winning at GEO" in a Think with Google article.

First, he says you don't need to waste time trying to optimise your content for bots. Search is smarter than that. Instead, focus on people. According to Kraham, Google's systems understand language much like a human does.

Second, he writes: "In a world of infinite content, your true competitive advantage is authenticity and expertise." He recommends sharing unique points of view, creating content based on first-hand experience, and showcasing your internal experts.

arXivLabs: AI Summaries Are 'Broadly' Accurate.

New research from arXiv suggests AI summarizers are broadly accurate.

After analysing 13,777 news articles and their 41,331 summaries generated in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Perplexity Comet, the researchers found that an average AI-generated summary of a news article is 82.8% accurate, with errors mostly stemming from imprecise wording or supplementary context.

The research also found that AI summarizers consistently reduce political bias and negative affect in news articles.

They suggest AI-powered browsers are now a new class of “editorial intermediaries” that systematically reshape news, with implications for democratic discourse and AI governance.
