We are about to hit the mid-point of the 2nd Half. Where has the season gone? Our string of good weather should continue this week. If the forecast looks good for the following week I'll get the rest of the schedule out there. The standings got a little closer so should be a good finish to the season. |

The episode for July 29th discusses the equivalent yardage so that the players of different skill levels average the same number of shots to finish the hole.
The example was that if a scratch player (0 handicap) was 150 yards in the fairway which is the equivalent yardage for a 5 Index, 10 Index, 15 Index, and 20 Index?
The answers are...
Scratch - 150 yds (baseline) 5 Index - 100 yds 10 Index - 53 yds 15 Index - 36 yds 20 Index - 27 yds
The equivalent for a tour pro is 205 yards! This is what makes pro-ams so much "fun".
This highlights that approach play is so crucial to scoring well and lowering your handicap. |

| | If you are playing your round at a different time, please send your opponent (and me) a picture of your scorecard. Appreciate those that have done so already this season. I would not give it to anyone working in the pub for they have been misplaced in the past. There is a bulletin board as you enter the pub from the pro shop that has our Schedule & Standings sheet. Feel free to slip your scorecard into that holder. There used to be a folder to place cards into, but it seems that was removed after last season. |
