Grenada Study

gif-c2-ak8ojr-searious-waste-to-pr-2026-08-01-092953

This month, we launched a feasibility study for the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) exploring waste-to-product opportunities in Grenada. The work assesses local waste streams, maps key stakeholders, and evaluates both technical feasibility and financial viability. The goal is to identify circular economy opportunities that create local value while reducing waste and environmental impact.

PPWR Ready

Image description

As PPWR moves from legislation to implementation, companies not only need accurate packaging data, but also the tools and processes to manage, verify and share it across the value chain. This month, we supported two major European companies in developing and validating structured PPWR compliance databases, using AI-assisted validation to identify gaps and opportunities. Whether you're collecting supplier data or preparing for future reporting obligations, we can help you get ready.

Caribbean Grants

This month, we began evaluating applications for the Small Grants Programme under Closing the Caribbean Plastic Tap (CCPT). The programme supports locally led projects that prevent plastic pollution across Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, helping communities and organisations develop practical circular economy solutions.

Refill Trials

After months of testing and refinement, the BRAVE'R refill pilot has officially started with cleaning partner Vebego. The project explores how smart refill systems can reduce packaging waste, improve dosing accuracy, generate valuable usage data, and support future ESG, EPR, and PPWR reporting. The coming months will reveal what it takes to make reuse practical and scalable in professional cleaning.

PFAS Progress

Image description

While regulatory action on PFAS continues to face challenges in parts of the United States, Europe is moving ahead with ambitious restrictions and reporting requirements. The contrast highlights how far advanced European policy has become on hazardous substances and underscores the importance of preparing now for the future direction of packaging and product regulation.

Upcoming events

Image description

This October, Willemijn will speak at Sustainability in Packaging Europe on the Economics of Circular Packaging: What Enables Scale? The session will explore the financial impact of transitioning to circular packaging systems, where businesses should prioritise investment, and why delaying action on packaging, materials, and supply chains can be more costly than acting now.

👉 Join us in Barcelona

At the Sustainable Packaging Summit, Willemijn will join the discussion on Reuse Cities and Behavioural Change. Drawing on lessons from our Amsterdam Reuse project, the session will explore what influences participation, what barriers remain, and how cities can design systems that make reuse a practical and attractive choice.
