FemiliPNG Australia raises $54,674 to support Femili PNG

Femili PNG helps survivors of family and sexual violence to access the care, support and change they need. We operate case management centres (CMCs) in Lae and Goroka, and the Bel isi CMC and Safe House in Port Moresby. We also undertake outreach, training and advocacy.

Male Youth Leaders Confident to Fight Family and Sexual Violence in Morobe

Through the Wok Bung Wantaim program, Femili PNG Training and Outreach Coordinator delivered a two-day training course on Gender and Family and Sexual Violence (FSV) at the Morobe Hotel. The sessions were attended by 26 male youth leaders from Phoaba Community.

A participant reflected on the training: "we sleep and wake up with violence every day at our doorstep, but little did I know what family and sexual violence really is. I thought FSV was just marriage issues, nothing deeper. Through the training, I learned it is far beyond that, and I feel I have a responsibility to help and provide support".

Femili PNG Donates Vehicle to Drive Community Impact

As one of the long-time committed supporters and partners of the Morobe Adventist Care Centre, Femili PNG reinforced its partnership by donating a vehicle to the safe house on Tuesday, 9 June, at the Morobe Mission of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

GBV Frontline Responders Reaffirms Survivor Support

With support from the United Nations Population Fund and KOICA, Femili PNG successfully delivered a five-day Advanced Case Management Training on Trauma-informed Care and Risk Assessment. This training brought together 19 frontline services from Bulolo and Huon Gulf districts.

GBV Partners Unite to Strengthen Survivor Support in Oro Province

In partnership with the Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF), Femili PNG successfully facilitated Gender-based Violence Partners and Stakeholders meetings in Popendetta and Kokoda, Oro Province with more than 50 participants from diverse sectors.

Celebrating Milestones

Femili PNG Graduates

Three Femili PNG staff were given the opportunity to complete a Diploma of Counselling with the Australia-based Cairnmillar Institute. Throughout 2025, these three individuals wored tirelessly to balance their studies with their ongoing work. Each was successful in completing their studies, and in May travelled to Melbourne to officially graduate.

Breaking the silence: A Mother and Children Find Safety and Justice

Mary* and her daughters endured years of abuse, control, and fear in silence, until a decision to seek help marked the beginning of their journey toward safety and justice.

While some relatives urged them to resolve the matter outside of court, Mary and her daughters insisted on justice. "We want justice and freedom like every other individual. Because of his threats, we do not feel secure or able to live a normal life."

For Mary and her daughters, the outcome was more than legal protection - it marked the beginning of healing, safety, and freedom after years of silence. This case reflects Femili PNG's survivor-centred case-management approach: survivors are never alone. With the right support and protection, healing is possible, dignity can be restored, and lives can be rebuilt.

FemiliPNG Australia Raises $54,674 to Support Femili PNG

Femili PNG Australia hosted a team at the Canberra Times Marathon Festival. This was a successful and record-breaking event for the organisation, with 36 runners raising $54,674.

In her acknowledgement to the participating runners and supporters, FemiliPNG Australia Executive Director (ED), Ms Jocelyn Condon thanked everyone for their enthusiasm to support Femili PNG and FemiliPNG Australia saying: "This is such important funding, and every dollar makes a difference for someone who walks through the doors of a Femili Case Management Centre at one of the hardest points in their lives. Your belief in our mission makes it possible.

A Week of Meaningful Connections: Networking in Melbourne

During the visit from the three Femili PNG staff to Melbourne, the graduates maximised their time by stepping out into the sector, exchanging knowledge, and strengthening ties with key partners. Over the course of the week, the team participated in a series of meeting designed to foster collaboration and share insides and included engaging with Australian Members of Parliament, local Australian service providers, the PNG Association of Victoria and the team at International Women's Development Agency.
