| | The sun is blazing, the daffodils and bluebells are out, people have left their jackets at home…which probably means the British weather will deliver up snow by the weekend! Welcome to this week’s GFN26 newsletter. |
The Global Forum on Nicotine takes place from Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 June 2026, but before the official event begins, we will host pre-conference side events on Wednesday morning. |
People with lived experience at GFN |
GFN is a hub for consumers, with many being featured on the programme, showcasing their expertise. |
The conference recognises their lived experience, with consumers often leading and organising sessions in Warsaw. Examples this year include: |
a session considering the impact of supranational organisations on national sovereignty a consumer-focussed session led by Maria Papaioannoy, and a spotlight on Latin America led by the Ibero-American Association for the Reduction of Tobacco Risks
In recognising the importance of placing consumers at the forefront of tobacco harm reduction policy, registration fees to attend GFN26 are kept low for consumers. |
Pre-conference side events |
With a more informal atmosphere, the pre-conference side events offer an ideal opportunity to catch up with old friends and make some new ones. As a GFN attendee, you can also choose to attend a selection of satellite events taking place at the Warsaw Presidential hotel (formerly the Marriott Warsaw). |
This year, the morning before GFN begins, you can attend: A session concerned with doctors and tobacco harm reduction A round table exchange considering the EU’s Tobacco Products Directive The previously mentioned ‘Spotlight Latin America’, by ARDT Iberoamérica
Programme Director Jessica Harding said: “People should keep an eye on the GFN26 programme. The side events are open to anyone registered to attend GFN in Warsaw. They will not be streamed.” |
The deadline for Science Lab is imminent |
GFN Science Lab gives you the opportunity to highlight your science and research in five-minute short films. Selected entrants will then be invited to share their science in a 15 minute in-person presentation at GFN26 in Warsaw. |
The deadline for submitting your entry is 17 April 2026. |
Now, let’s meet two more of our wonderful media partners! |
