Hej!
Time flies when you’re having fun, and oh my, what an incredible time I’ve had at SweCham! I have now reached the end of my internship, and I want to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to spend these past nine months at SweCham. During my time here, I have grown tremendously — not only professionally, but also personally. Moving abroad on your own really forces you to grow, take care of yourself, build your own safety net, and become confident in figuring things out independently.
I’m not going to lie — when I first started at SweCham, I had a major case of imposter syndrome. As a new undergraduate student in Digital Cultures, I was unsure of how I would adapt to such a business-focused environment. I even created a little “SweCham for Dummies” document where I wrote down all the acronyms and terms I had never encountered before as a humanities student. But hey, I think it worked out quite well!
From drafting advocacy paper outlines and being the MC for SweCham’s Talking Stage at SX Expo 2026 to organizing SweCham’s first Young Professionals event, creating marketing materials for various events, handing out countless business cards, and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and industries, every experience has been both rewarding and memorable. Above all, meeting so many inspiring individuals who genuinely wanted to see me succeed has made this journey truly unforgettable.
I am incredibly grateful for all the experiences and lessons I’ve gained along the way, and I want to thank the SweCham team as well as all of our members whom I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. This internship has guided me toward understanding what I want to do next and what the next step in my career should be. With that said, I am very happy to announce that I will be staying in Bangkok to kick-start my professional career — something that would not have been possible without all the experiences and opportunities I’ve gained during my time at SweCham.
But before I leave, we have one of our biggest events coming up! Together with the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce (FTCC), Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce (NTCC), and Swiss-Thai Chamber of Commerce (STCC), we are hosting the 9th edition of the Sustainability for Business Forum 2026 on May 28. The event will feature three tracks focusing on retail from an EPR perspective, Scope 3 emissions, and e-mobility. The opening remarks will be delivered by Michaela Friberg-Storey, UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand. Driven by a shared commitment to empowering businesses with innovative and effective strategies for economic, environmental, and social performance, this forum continues to serve as a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and actionable insights into sustainable business practices.
And to kick-start the summer, SweCham will also host our traditional Midsummer Luncheon! This event will take place at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit on June 6, which also happens to be Sweden’s National Day. I cannot wait for this event! There will be a flower crown-making station, a delicious midsummer buffet, and some amazing raffle prizes. It will also be my final event at SweCham, so come join us as we celebrate this festive day together.
Thank you. ขอบคุณค่ะ. Tack så mycket!
