| Femili PNG helps survivors of family and sexual violence to access the care, support and change they need. We operate case management centres (CMCs) in Lae and Goroka, and the Bel isi CMC and Safe House in Port Moresby. We also undertake outreach, training and advocacy. | | International Women's Day |
|
The theme of this year's International Women's Day is rights, justice, action - for all women. On March 6, Femili PNG staff from Lae Case Management Centre and National Office gathered alongside the Australian Consul-General at Lae Secondary Hall to celebrate the women of PNG whose commitment to ending GBV continues to transform lives across Morobe and PNG. |

| | In partnership with UNFPA, Femili PNG successfully hosted the Morobe 2nd Consultation Meeting. The consultation was focused on improving services for survivors of Gender-Based Violence and brought together representatives from health, police, and community development sectors |

| | Stories of hope and change |
|
For most of her young life, Melvina* endured more fear than freedom. Her childhood was cut short by marriage at just 12 years old, and she suffered Intimate Partner Violence. Everything began to change when Melvina came to Femili PNG.
“I am happy. I can truly see the impact of the law on my case. Thank you Femili PNG ” Melvina said
Melvina's story shows that with the right support, fear can transform into strength, and silence into hope. |

Sam*, a 13 year old boy endured ongoing physical and verbal abuse at home, growing up in an environment characterised by fear. After an incident left him fearing for his life, Sam fled to his Grandmother's village. Sam's grandmother worked with Femili PNG to apply for an Interim Protection Order on Sam's behalf.
This case highlights the importance of community support systems and organisations like Femili PNG in protecting children and helping survivors rebuild their lives. |
