| | The TARIFFS President Trump had been handing out all through 2025, were capricious and unfair. The European Union, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Sweden & Bolivia negotiated a rate of 15%. Lucky Britain, Australia & Singapore scored a preferential 10% rate – and so did Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala & Fiji – but Canada got hit with a punitive 35% (besides 40–50% on steel & aluminum, and soon-expiring CUSMA exemptions), severely impacting our sales to the U.S..
Is this the way to treat a neighbour and long-time friend? Even Mexico, which has never been a supporter of the U.S., got a better deal at 25% (although threatened with a 5% penalty for not sending enough water from drought-stricken Northern Mexico to the parched Southern US., plus another penalty if it continues to ship oil to Cuba). Apparently, Mr. Trump takes Canada for granted. He may speculate that the tariff pressures will help persuade Canadians to become tariff-free by joining the U.S. as 51st state... Nice try. Maybe Canada should turn the tables and offer ICE-tormented Minnesotans & other U.S. states along the 49th an escape to Peace & Freedom by joining our merry Canadian Confederation. India's punitive 50% tariff dropped to 18% after India promised to stop buying Russian oil, and to import $500 billion worth of US products. Moved by Mr. Trump's "magnanimity", India's PM Modi hugged him gratefully. |
|
Despite Trump's promises, the tariffs have been a disaster for the U.S., causing inflation and economic problems. Congress is passing a bill to repeal them, but Trump will veto it. On 20 Feb., the Supreme Court ruled the tariffs to be illegal – whereupon Trump imposed a 10% charge of a different sort, and threatened to increase this to 15%. Here is some of what he had to say: "Canada has taken advantage of the United States on Trade for many years. They are among the worst in the world to deal with, especially as it relates to our Northern Border. Tariffs makes a Win for us, Easy." |
|
Looking at these impressive figures, the thought occurs that it may be worthwhile to try the highly successful AIPAC model in a Canadian-funded "ACPAC" version, for the purpose of getting a better tariff treatment. (However, there's already some bribing competition from the patriotic anti-zionist "AZAPAC" lobby.)
Channeling money to the U.S. president may also work... e.g. through Trump's immensely profitable crypto-currency scheme, or through direct donations, like the $100 million from the heiress of a casino empire (who already pledged $250 million for the next elections), plus the multi-millions of other donors – which ensure that Mr. Trump pursues an "Israel-first" instead of a "US-first" policy. This results in Israelis enjoying a welfare state with universal health care (free essential services) and heavily subsidized university education – benefits U.S. citizens can only dream about, especially now with Medicare & Food Stamps being cut substantially, while high incomes get bigger tax breaks and the financial support of Israel continues unabated. Knowing that the Israel lobby gave Trump well over $300 million to ensure Israel's priority, it may be interesting to find out how much he would charge for a "Canada-first" policy... |
|
Most important, however, is Canada's need to re-assert its full independence... Strong and Free – not beholden to any country! Major steps in that direction are already being taken, which may help to teach Mr. Trump not to take Canada for granted. |
|
1.) Canada, along with Japan, South Korea & Australia, recently joined the EU's "SAFE" program (Security Action for Europe). This is an initiative for the joint procurement of military equipment, ensuring top-technology solutions at low-cost, high-volume production. The U.S. are not part of this group.
2.) The U.S., China and Russia are getting very interested in Canada's Northern Territories and its waterways, which are becoming more accessible due to global warming. To ensure its sovereignty in these regions, Canada is setting up a complete air & ocean surveillance system for the Arctic, totally Canadian-owned & operated – independent from the U.S., and backed by an Air Force & Navy building program. |
|
6.) The Canada-China relationship is warming up again, with some major deals announced recently, and more to surely follow in the future... as long as Canadians don't mind that China punishes criticism of government and support of democracy with 25 years prison (Jimmy Lai, news publisher, Hong Kong), and occasionally locks up Canadian businessmen as hostages.
7.) Major trade deals with India, another country with huge potential, will probably be next... as long as Indian dissidents stop getting assassinated in Canada, and the harassment of Muslims in India doesn't get out of hand. |
|
9.) Exiting NATO is another worthwhile thought. This treaty pulled Canada into the Afghanistan war – a result of the 9-11 attack, which was caused by the constant U.S. meddling in the Middle East / West Asia. Since the U.S. never stop meddling, Canada may be obliged (through NATO) to join other wars, e.g. Iran or China. Without NATO, Canadian security will still be fine since the U.S. won't allow any other country to enter this territory (the only risk being that Uncle Sam himself may show up, uninvited). Also, there should be no long-term trade repercussions. Mexico is not a NATO member either, but its trade with the U.S. is booming. |
|
10.) Once the political heat has cooled down, Canada should consider to start talking to Greenland about joining the happy family of independent Canadian provinces & territories. Greenland is a mere 30 km off Canada's coast, and its indigenous inhabitants communicate with Canada's Inuit, since their language is very similar. But in order to resist U.S. take-over attempts in the long term, this tiny population of less than 57,000 may need Canada's backing.

Without the massive financial, military and political interference of the U.S., the whole Palestine/Lebanon region could have been at peace many decades ago – since Israel would have been forced to find accommodation with all of its neighbours. |

In Iran there's a sizeable Jewish community whose people live happily with their Muslim neighbours, have the same citizen's rights, are free to practice their religion – and are very much opposed to Israeli policies. |
|
In today's Palestine & Lebanon (and now in Iran as well), war crimes and crimes against humanity are committed daily and with impunity... Over 1,600 violations of the current 5-month old Gaza “ceasefire”, with over 630 Palestinians killed. Thousands of UN-documented violations of the 15-month “ceasefire” violations in Lebanon, with over 330 Lebanese killed (that's before the current Israeli assault on Lebanon started). Over 36,000 Palestinians driven from their Westbank homes, with well over 1,000 killed by Israeli settlers & soldiers since October 2023...
But shielded by a perpetual U.S. veto, Israel ignored all UN orders and resolutions – and hardly ever encountered any consequences. Read also: "Israel's War on Gaza's Healthcare Continues." "I Am One of 22,000 Gaza Patients."
Meanwhile, with the world's focus on Iran, the pressure on Gaza increased, illegal settlements on the Palestinian Westbank expanded, and the attacks by armed government-supported thugs multiplied... destroying homes, cars and olive trees, killing or stealing livestock and bludgeoning or killing unarmed farmers.
In keeping with its core values, CANADA should set an example by fully supporting UN rulings – not just with words, but with decisive action to help STOP this diabolical 'circus'! |

Upon the news of the US/Israel attack on Iran, Canada’s Mark Carney limply opined: “Canada reaffirms Israel’s right to defend itself and to ensure the security of its people. Canada supports the United States acting to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, and to prevent its regime from further threatening international peace and security.”
That’s nonsensical political drivel, devoid of any factual substance!
1.) Iran has been controlled and hounded by the U.S. since 1953, when the CIA & MI6 engineered a coup that overthrew the democratically elected government of Prime Minister Dr. Mossadegh, and installed a dictator (the Shah) instead.
2.) In 1979, the Shah was overthrown in a nation-wide revolt. A US-instigated & supported invasion by Iraq in 1980 led to an 8-year war with over 500,000 Iranian deaths.
3.) In 2015, Iran signed a treaty with the U.S. and European countries that prohibited the development of nuclear weapons, guaranteed full inspections of Iran's nuclear sites, and promised the removal of economic sanctions. Europe & Iran carried out their obligations, but the U.S. welched on the deal and never completed the sanctions removal.
4.) NetanYahoo hated this agreement. That's why Trump tore it up in 2018 and severely tightened the sanctions.
5.) Iran's current regime is repressive – and so are many other countries in the world – but strangling the economy and dropping bombs only adds to the misery of its people.
6.) Although painted by the media for decades as promoting terrorism and developing an atomic bomb, Iran never built a nuclear weapon or aided terrorists. According to the UN Charter, the alleged "terrorists" (groups like Hamas & Hisbollah) are legitimate organizations with the right to armed resistance against Israeli aggression and oppression – as confirmed by an overwhelming majority (81%) of UN member nations.
7.) Iran has not attacked any country in 227 years – whereas Israel has attacked all of its neighbours, most of them multiple times. It is IRAN that had the right to defend itself against several Israeli attacks, plus an Israeli/US bombing campaign in 2025, and now in 2026 again... According to international law, all of them War Crimes. The U.S. claim at the Security Council that these attacks are in "self-defense" – according to article 51 of the UN Charter, is a shameless lie!
8.) U.S. intelligence reports stated that Iran was unlikely to pose a threat to the United States within the next decade.
9.) Iran’s religious leader issued 2 'fatwas' against nuclear weapons, declaring them to be 'un-Islamic'. That's why Iran never built a nuclear bomb in 40 years, whereas Israel has amassed about 100, almost twice as many as North Korea. Iran proceeded with the enrichment of uranium, since this was not prohibited by the 'fatwas' and provided leverage in negotiations for sanctions relief.
10.) In the February peace negotiations, Iran agreed to stop uranium enrichment, give up half of its stockpile, dilute the rest for regular energy use, and allow strict inspections of its facilities... So, problem solved – and everyone could go home happily and content?
Unfortunately, this was not to be, since Israel pulled the same insidious trick as in June 2025, when it assassinated military leaders & scientists, and started a 12-day bombing campaign in the midst of peace negotiations with Iran... And as in September 2025, when it killed the Hamas peace envoys during negotiations in Doha (Qatar)... And this time, 28 Feb. 2026, when Israel & the U.S. attacked while negotiating with Iran in Geneva, assassinating the top echelon of Iran's leaders, devastating the country and killing its people. Clearly, those who ordered this have NO class, honour, ethics or conscience!
These attacks prove that Israel’s true intention was never the removal of an imaginary nuclear threat, but the obliteration of the last surviving opponent to its aspiration of achieving Middle East dominance. It's about time CANADA's Prime Minister checks out the facts and corrects his position accordingly. After all, he represents a nation that strongly supports Fairness, Justice and Peace.
Despite all the propaganda, Trump's war is not going well. The blocking of oil & nat. gas shipments threatens to plunge the world into economic turmoil. There's a danger that the conflict may grow into a wider conflagration, or that Trump or his Israeli handlers may start to consider Nuclear Options.
