April 13, 2026 (Los Angeles, CA) // Scot “Little” Bihlman’s latest single, “Leaving My Heart at Home,” has been released through V13 Music as part of the ongoing rollout of his upcoming record Heavy Head. Inspired by the likes of The Police and the brass-edged urgency of alternative ska, the song combines a catchy, horn-driven sound with commentary on moving on from a bad relationship and finding power within oneself.

From the very beginning, the song has a lively and kinetic feel. The horns are very present in the rhythm section, giving the song a buoyant, lively feel. There's a certain swing to the song, a certain celebration in the tone. It's as if the song is encouraging the listener to move before it gets into the emotional content.

However, beneath this cheerful façade lies a narrative of realization and determination. The lyrics portray the disintegration of a dysfunctional relationship and the exact moment when one party realizes the manipulation and decides to preserve oneself against the repetition of the same process. The disparity between the song's brightness and its content adds complexity. It does not portray moving on as a failure; it portrays it as enlightenment.

With “Leaving My Heart at Home,” Bihlman brings a bit of an edge to the emerging story of Heavy Head. Where earlier singles focused on internal explorations, memory, and reflection. This one blows open the doors. The clear horns and catchy beat convey a message of clarity and self-preservation, making the end of a toxic relationship sound more like a release than a defeat.
