AEG News

Henan Finance University (HFU) Partnership

The Adelaide Education Group (AEG) and the Henan Finance University (HFU), represented by their Presidents, Mr Don Chen and Mr Li Xuezhi, respectively, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) reflecting the parties' continued commitment to strengthening international partnerships that create meaningful opportunities for students and staff.

AEG values Henan Finance University’s leadership and collaboration, and looks forward to exploring pathways for cooperation that align with their shared focus on academic excellence, global connectedness, and student success.

AEG Welcomes True Visions

The AEG and True Visions took their cooperation to the next level through the recent visit of Dr Seng Bona, Founder and Chairman of True Visions and its BMU University.

During his visit, Dr Bona toured AEG's Melbourne and Adelaide campuses and had the opportunity to meet and engage with colleagues at the Adelaide Institute of Higher Education (AIHE), Adelaide Institute of Business and Technology (AIBT), and Adelaide International School (AIS). We value this continued partnership and look forward to strengthening collaboration in ways that create meaningful opportunities for students and support high-quality education across our jurisdictions.

Saint Peter's College of Ormoc, Inc. (SPCO) Partnership

AEG entered into an MOU with Saint Peter's College of Ormoc, Inc. (SPCO), marking an important milestone in AEG’s international engagement and global partnerships agenda. The agreement signalled the commencement of a collaborative relationship focused on academic quality, internationalisation, and student opportunity. SPCO is the oldest Catholic school in Leyte, Philippines.

The signing ceremony was attended by AIHE CEO and concurrent AEG Head of Advancement Fatima Reyes and SPCO President Rev. Msgr. Erlito A. Maraya, PhD, alongside SPCO Academic Consultant Dr. Erwin Vincent Alcala. It was witnessed by SPCO academic leaders, administrators, and student representatives, reflecting a strong institutional commitment to the partnership.

Through this partnership, AEG and SPCO will collaborate on initiatives that support international academic engagement. The partnership also aims to provide a platform for broader cooperation across AEG’s education network, encompassing higher education, vocational education and training, secondary education, English language support, and research.

AIHE News

AIHE Trademark Registration

The AIHE has successfully completed the registration of the AIHE trademark, representing a key governance and risk-management milestone for the Institute.

The registration provides formal legal protection of AIHE’s name and brand and strengthens the Institute’s regulatory posture by mitigating reputational, operational, and intellectual property risks. This outcome supports AIHE’s compliance with sector expectations relating to corporate identity, transparency, and institutional integrity.

Securing the AIHE trademark aligns with the Institute’s broader governance framework and commitment to maintaining robust systems that protect students, stakeholders, and the Institute’s standing within the Australian higher education sector.

Australia Day Celebration

AIHE celebrated Australia Day at its Melbourne Campus with a relaxed pizza picnic—good food, great company, and easygoing vibes. A simple get-together that brought our community closer and turned shared moments into lasting memories.

Student Voice Committee

At the AIHE, we believe student voice is essential to building a learning community where students feel heard, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Our Student Voice Committee provides a meaningful platform for students to share feedback, raise ideas, and contribute to initiatives that enhance the student experience. It is a space for constructive dialogue, collaboration, and shared responsibility in shaping a positive and inclusive campus environment.

Alongside this, our Student Ambassadors play a vital role in welcoming new students, strengthening peer connections, and representing the AIHE community with pride and professionalism. They help bring our campus culture to life through orientation support, events, and student engagement activities.

Thank you to our Student Voice Committee members and Student Ambassadors for your leadership, energy, and commitment. Your contributions make a real difference, and we are grateful for the role you play in strengthening the AIHE student experience.

Celebrating Mr Mustafa Kadir’s Appointment with ACS SA

Congratulations to Mr Mustafa Kadir on his appointment as SA Branch Executive Committee Chair of the Australian Computer Society.

This is a well-deserved recognition of Mr Kadir’s leadership, professional credibility, and commitment to advancing the ICT profession in South Australia. The ACS plays an important role in strengthening industry standards, supporting innovation, and building pathways for future talent, and Mustafa’s contribution to this work will be significant.

We also sincerely appreciate Mr Kadir’s ongoing support of the AIHE, particularly through his contributions to our Work Integrated Learning initiatives and his valued service as a member of our Course Advisory Committee. Beyond this, we are grateful for the energy and generosity he brings to every initiative, whether he is leading workshops, delivering talks, or sharing practical insights with our staff and students.

Work Readiness Program

AIHE’s Work Readiness Program continues with four targeted follow-up modules delivered by Mr Marko Savovic, building on the Work Readiness Workshop run by Ms Elena Muller.

These modules form part of the nine-module Work Readiness Program and are free for all AIHE students, strengthening essential employability skills aligned to AIHE’s graduate outcomes and the expectations of today’s competitive labour market.

Students who have attended Ms Muller’s workshop and successfully completed all nine modules facilitated by Mr Savovic will receive a Certificate of Completion.

New AIS Principal

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Steve Bousfield as the new Principal of the AIS.

Mr Bousfield brings a long and distinguished career in education, with leadership experience across Australia, China, and the United Kingdom. His professional expertise spans strategic leadership, international education and collaboration, curriculum design, change management, school improvement reviews, and executive coaching, aligning strongly with AIS’s focus on academic quality, global engagement, and continuous improvement.

His recent roles include Principal of Trinity College Senior, South Australia, and Foundation Principal of Maple Leaf School – UniSA, a bilingual English–Chinese school established in partnership with the University of South Australia. Mr Bousfield also served as Principal of Westminster School, Adelaide, from 2008 to 2016, before taking on the role of Co-Principal of Shanghai United International School in Xiamen, a Year 1–12 school developed in collaboration with Xiehe Education and the Siming Bureau of Education. These roles reflect deep experience in leading complex school environments, building international partnerships, and delivering rigorous, future-focused curricula.

Mr Bousfield’s appointment supports AIS’s strategic priorities to strengthen academic outcomes, expand international pathways, enhance student wellbeing, and position the school for sustainable growth within the AEG. His experience in governance, including service as a Board Member of another leading Adelaide school, further strengthens AIS’s leadership capability and accountability framework.

We warmly welcome Mr Bousfield to the AIS community and look forward to his leadership as AIS continues to provide a high-quality, globally connected education that supports student aspiration, achievement, and success.

Welcoming Our New AIS Students

AIS warmly welcomed 14 students as they begin their educational journey in Australia through an engaging and informative orientation program. Teachers and staff, together with AIS’s new Principal, Mr Steve Bousfield, extended a heartfelt welcome and introduced students to the AIS community, its values, and the support available to them.

During the orientation, Mr Adenz Ton, Learning Advisor and Student Support Officer, guided students through key aspects of life at AIS. The session covered an introduction to school staff, school policies, students’ responsibilities, uniform guidelines, IT set-up, high school rules, emergency evacuation procedures, and concluded with a school tour to help students familiarise themselves with the campus.

With a clear understanding of what lies ahead, our new students left the orientation feeling confident, prepared, and excited to begin their journey - the AIS way.

General Assembly

Following the Orientation, students came together on 28 January for the first General Assembly of the year, welcoming both new and returning students and providing an opportunity to connect as a community. Led by Ms Zara Philips, Director of Teaching and Learning, the assembly focused on supporting students as they settle into life in Australia. Practical advice was shared, including beach safety awareness and sun-smart habits such as the familiar “Slip, Slop, Slap” message.

The program included a series of speeches, including a message from AIS School Captain Lithasha Dulathmi Karunagamage, a Year 12 student, who warmly welcomed the new cohort and reassured returning students that at AIS they will always have the support they need and never feel alone. She encouraged everyone to work as a team, support one another, strive for their best, and create meaningful moments that will stay with them for years to come.

Another highlight of the assembly was the opportunity for students to hear directly from their teachers, who introduced themselves and extended a friendly, personal welcome, further strengthening the strong sense of community within the school.
