| It is with great sadness that we received the news of Elizabeth Pratt's death over the Christmas period. For many years she has been the leading light of our watch over the natural environment. She examined and analysed every planning application for its implications for the environment and wrote extremely well researched responses on behalf of the Society. Elizabeth was even emailing caring messages from her hospital bed. Her activity and passion will and is already being, greatly missed.

| Elizabeth's funeral will be at the Abbey on Tuesday 3rd February at midday. It will be followed by light refreshments served in the Abbey after the service. |

| We are very much missing Elizabeth’s input on planning matters, if anyone would be willing to join the committee to help monitor the weekly planning lists and help with responding to planning strategy as it affects the natural environment we would be very pleased to hear from you - [email protected] |

In order to entice more members to attend during the winter daylight, rather than the dark, we are now going to meet on WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 4TH at 2.30 pm - still in the Methodist Church Hall. The theme for at least the first part of the session will be: 'What's Love Got to Do with it?' so we expect another varied and fascinating selection of poems from our 5 readers. |
