Good research doesn’t end at acceptance. It begins at use.
Every study published should do more than sit on a page.
It should inform decisions, refine practice, and strengthen how surgical teams work under pressure.
At TORGJ - The Operating Room Global Journal, we publish work designed to travel beyond the journal into operating rooms, policy discussions, training programs, and real-world systems.
If your research addresses surgical care, human factors, patient safety, or health systems in any setting, we welcome your contribution.

Hand Signals in the Operating Room

Image description

In the operating room, clear communication is essential, and hand signals provide a simple yet powerful way to convey information without interrupting focus or breaking sterility. They allow the surgical team to communicate efficiently despite masks, noise, and high-pressure moments. When used consistently, hand signals enhance teamwork, improve workflow, and contribute to safer surgical care.
