Updates from the National Office

NLSC Immersive Experience: Construction is a three-day, industry-led program designed for non-competitors in building trades & renovations, carpentry, electrical, HVAC-R, and plumbing. Students engage directly with industry professionals, step into real-world construction scenarios, and can earn an industry-recognized credential. It’s a powerful way to connect classroom instruction to clear career pathways.

Would you be willing to help promote this opportunity to your construction instructors? I’ve attached an email template and flyer to make it easy to share across your state.

Full details are available here:
https://www.nlsc.skillsusa.org/immersive

If you believe you have students who want to participate, please let me know. Please note that I have asked for our state to be moved to Phase 2.

Save the Date for Elevate 2026!

Mark your calendar for Elevate 2026, taking place Wednesday, Sept. 9. Elevate is SkillsUSA’s virtual chapter officer development conference designed to help officer teams build or refine a strong, actionable SkillsUSA Program of Work for the year ahead. This year’s conference will take place earlier than in previous years to better support chapters during key planning timelines.

As you begin planning for the next school year, we encourage you to share this date with advisors now so they can add Elevate to school calendars and seek administrative approval before summer break. Advisors are also encouraged to elect chapter officers in the spring, giving teams time to prepare and engage. Early planning helps ensure chapters begin the year positioned for success. Be sure to review the Chapter Officer Election Toolkit and begin socializing Elevate with your chapters.

Additional details, resources and promotional materials will be shared at the beginning of April. In the meantime, you can use the Elevate website to begin promoting the conference through your association communications.

Registration will open at the beginning of April and close on Friday, Sept. 4. The cost is $50 per chapter, regardless of the number of participants.

Questions can be directed to Mary Kavan at [email protected].
