Welcome to the New Week

Third Sunday in Lent

Image description

That’s the kind of people the Creator is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before God in their worship. God is sheer being itself — Spirit. Those who worship the Creator must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration. (John 4:23b-24)

Our Lenten Bible study on the theme of forgiveness continues on Monday at 7pm Eastern via Zoom. All are welcome. Here's a preview of that session:

Forgiving Others: A Command, Not a Feeling

Theme: Forgiveness as obedience
Core Scriptures:

Focus: Forgiveness in Scripture is an act of will grounded in Christ’s forgiveness of us—not emotional closure or reconciliation on our terms.

Key Questions:

  • What does forgiveness require—and what does it not require?

  • How is forgiveness different from reconciliation?

  • How does forgiveness free the forgiver?

Lenten posture: Costly obedience

We will join First Christian Church of Decatur in their sanctuary for an Atlanta Science Festival panel discussion titled "The Limitations of Labels: A Science and Spirituality Panel" at 7pm Thursday, March 12. All are welcome.

You're in the right place.

We’re an independent, affirming and progressive church serving metro Atlanta that is open, positive and inclusive. Our congregation comes from many spiritual backgrounds, but we agree on the following and invite you to come worship with us and experience God’s love in a whole new way.

God loves you unconditionally: God passionately desires a direct relationship with you, just the way you are.

Your relationship with God is paramount: No one, no institution, no thing, should come between you and God.

Your faith is between you and God: God does God’s best work when there are no intermediaries between you and God.
