PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE I know it has been a while, but as a reminder, in October last year you may recall my vision for this year. MEMBERSHIP! Unfortunately, I have not talked about it as much as I should have. Recruiting new people is not easy. When talking to someone, we need to keep in mind that we are not only recruiting physical people (numbers); we are recruiting new ideas and new energy for our Club. That’s what we need to talk about when approaching others to join our Club. It isn’t just about their time; it’s giving them an opportunity to do something that is very meaningful – most people are looking to do just that. They are looking for an outlet to do just that. Our Club gives them that opportunity to “make a difference” to the youth in our Community. At the same time, they may make new friendships while working on projects to enhance our young people. HOW GOOD IS THAT? What better time to communicate our experiences with others than the present? I know I have had a lot of fun working projects with the members of our Club. Communicate your fun experiences with others and ASK them to join in the fun. SOMETIMES, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK! If you honestly communicate your love for the Club and you are enthusiastic about it, people will listen. Explain all the Club does to enhance our youth in the Community – then ASK. Tom, has put together a small pamphlet that explains pretty much what we stand for (if you don’t have any, let me know). Have a pamphlet handy at all times. Keep some in your car or anywhere you can get one in moment’s notice. Remember, SOMETIMES, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK!!! |

MEETING WRAP UP Tuesday March 10th Our speaker had to reschedule to a later date, but we filled the meeting with Whitetails Unlimited and 'Fore the Kids' Golf Classic discussion.
1951 West served a delicious Patty Melt served on Texas Toast that fueled the fire and satisfied the hungers!
The lucky Queen of Hearts ticket was pulled by Harold Peterson ( AGAIN) but he wasn't fortunate enough to find the Queen of Hearts. The pot has grown to well over $100. Come to our next meeting and try your luck!
Tuesday March 24th HSSD Superintendent and Member, Mark Smith, gave a great presentation and update attendees on the upcoming school district referendum. As you can imagine, the topic sparked a lot of questions and the meeting ran right up to 7:05PM. Harold Peterson was picked again and drew for the Queen of Hearts (I think its his third in a row). He picked the Queen of Clubs -- he is getting closer. Our next meeting will surely have a Pot winner, of $100 or more.

WHITETAILS UNLIMITED UPDATE |

What an incredible night for conservation, community, and kids! 🦌🇺🇸 The Howard-Suamico Optimist Club hosted the Whitetails Unlimited Banquet on Wednesday, March 11 at the Rock Garden Banquet & Conference Center, and the turnout was outstanding with over 290 attendees joining us for the evening. This year’s banquet featured one of the largest selections of raffles, prizes, and firearms we’ve seen in recent years, creating a lot of excitement throughout the night. The energy in the room showed just how much our community supports outdoor heritage and youth programs. Events like this don’t happen without dedicated volunteers. Nineteen Optimist Club members stepped up to make the evening run smoothly, led by Chair Alex Peterson and Co-Chair Harold Peterson. Their leadership, organization, and hard work made the event a tremendous success. 👏 Thank you, Alex and Harold, for an outstanding job and for your dedication to the youth of our communities. And thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and supported the evening. Together, we continue to make a positive difference for local youth. |

What Fundraising Activities are planned for the Spring and Summer seasons?
How do I volunteer to support our club?
What do my dues payment go toward? No matter your question, we are here to help. If we don't have the answer, we'll help you find who does. Consider our team a "hub" you can always come to with your questions.

Trivia Quiz... According to Ronald Regan: "A filing cabinet is a place where important papers get lost alphabetically." "My first car didn't have a horn. I used to have to blow my nose to avoid accidents." "We'll have to get four bedpans and have a reunion." "The toilet, like a harp, is a solo instrument." "I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me, than a full frontal lobotomy."
