Become a Member

It’s a new membership year. Our membership year runs from August 1st to July 31st . We invite you to become a dues-paying member for the 2025-2026 year! Last year we had 103 dues paying members. Our goal this year is 140; we are currently at 74. Please help us achieve that goal and join us at our programs and events. It’s amazing connecting with sisters from so many different collegiate chapters. Annual dues cover national per capita dues, operating expenses, convention/province fees, and provide support for the 7 Kansas and Missouri Collegiate Chapters we support, along with the National Fraternity and various Alpha Chi Omega causes. Thank you in advance for supporting Mu Mu by paying your membership dues!

National Domestic Violence Hotline Convention

Image description

On Sunday, October 26th, nine AX sisters plus one husband volunteered to support the National Domestic Violence Hotline convention with helping to stuff attendee welcome bags. We stuffed over 750 bags with a variety of donations from KC organizations in two and one half hours.

Mu Mu sisters included Amy Bartak, Kim Bartak, Teresa Bartak, Whitney Schmale, Deb Taylor and Bev Nichols. Three newly initiated sisters from the Phi collegiate chapter at Kansas University joined us (Meryl McGinnis, Alyssa Wolf and Meranda Abante). Whitney’s husband, David, provided much strong arm help in unloading boxes and keeping our packing lines stocked. We were so efficient that the second packing session was canceled. Diane Blackwelder was scheduled to help there, but we were all done. These roles are essential to helping the event run smoothly and creating a welcoming and positive experience for attendees! It was a wonderful opportunity for hands-on involvement in a cause that means so much to our sisterhood.

Sponsor an Alumna Initiate Candidate

Do you know an outstanding woman whom you think would make a great Alpha Chi Omega? Women we’ve welcomed through this program have included our friends, family members, coworkers, campus professionals and other women who have made a difference in their communities, in their professions and in the lives of others. Alpha Chi Omega shapes the future through the powerful, transformative and everlasting connections of real, strong women. The National Alumna Initiate Program (NAIP) extends our membership experience to real, strong women in our communities who identify with the mission and values of Alpha Chi and care about our philanthropic initiatives, who did not have the opportunity to join Alpha Chi Omega as a collegiate member. Please let us know if you have a friend, family or neighbor that you think would make a great Alpha Chi Omega.

In Memory

Patricia Carolyn Sievers Seager

Omicron (Baker University) '67

Image description

Alpha Chi Omega has lost a loyal and loving sister. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the family of Patricia Sievers Seager, Omicron initiate. Patricia's sister, Jean Sievers Rose, and niece, Sarah Rose Gies are also Omicron initiates. Pat leaves a wonderful husband, Dennis, her 3 adult children and spouses, and 9 grandchildren. So much love and kindness given to others, plus the joy of living a beautiful life. Her Omicron sisters are deeply saddened by this loss of a special AXO.

Lunch Bunch Recap

Our group of 12 sat in a giant U shape, wrapped around two grilling stations at Toro Hibachi Sushi & Asian on October 7 in Overland Park. The food was delicious, from teppanyaki and sushi to appetizers and delicate soups, with lots of to-go bags from the ample portions.

We welcomed Clarise Hovis, Kim Bartak and Amy Bartak, who all hail from Gamma Zeta (Kansas State University).
