Round Byrd Evensong for All Saints

Saturday 1st November, 2.30 rehearsal, 5.00pm service - St Mary's

Round Byrd is St Mary's occasional choir that rehearses and sings a service on a single afternoon three times a year. Competent singers are welcome to signup and join us, the deal is you rehearse the notes beforehand and come along ready to polish the performance on the day. If you don't want to sing just come along at 5pm and enjoy this sumptuous music in a beautiful setting.

An Evening with Angela Harding

Join printmaker and illustrator Angela Harding for a talk on how she creates her iconic artwork.

Drawing inspiration from British birds and animals, Angela creates her beautiful and instantly recognisable designs. This year she has brought us four new books on the seasons, Spring Unfurled, Summer’s Hum, Falling into Autumn and Winter’s Song.

Angela will share insights into her creative process, discuss what draws her to the British countryside and how she translates her observations into her artwork.

A joint event for Rossiter Books and The Friends of St Mary’s Ross on Wye.

Concert: Swing from Paris

Swing from Paris are an all-string jazz quartet, inspired by the music of the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s: from Benny Goodman, Charlie Christian, and Artie Shaw to Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli and the master of tango Astor Piazzolla.

Their Parisian-flavoured jazz and gypsy swing has been delighting audiences for over 15 years: from major jazz festivals including the Django Reinhardt Festival at Samois-sur-Seine, to the BBC’s Hairy Bikers and the opening of the award-winning Gloucester Services.

Midwinter’s musical pendulum swings between the ancient and the contemporary, the religious and the secular, the familiar and the unknown. This is a tapestry of music woven from works spanning the 12th century to the present day, illustrating the richness and enduring allure of midwinter’s musical traditions. All in the rich surroundings of St Mary's Church, illuminated by 50 or more Christmas trees. 

The Orchestra of the Swan performs over 45 concerts a year in collaboration with distinguished guest conductors and solo artists, bringing the music of the world’s most celebrated composers to our loyal and evolving audiences.

Join Ross-on-Wye Choral Society for an evening of festive music at our Winter Concert Celebrates Christmas: Choral Classics and Carols, on Saturday 13th December 2025 at 7.30pm.

Under the direction of Adrian Taylor, the choir presents a programme featuring works by Bach, Brahms, Mozart, Lauridsen, Berlioz, and Bruckner—mixing timeless choral masterpieces and seasonal favourites. The evening will also include traditional carols to celebrate Christmas.

With Stephen Power at the organ and mezzo-soprano Catherine King as guest soloist, this will be a special concert to start your festive season.
