POWER MONDAY SPOTLIGHT

Image description

The world of finance is evolving — and with it, the opportunities to think, act, and invest beyond borders.

This Power Monday@5! session drew over 90 participants, and 300 views, featuring Faith Zinzia, Senior Financial Advisor at Standard Investment Bank, who shared insights on How to Become a Global Investor. Drawing from over a decade of experience in sales, marketing, and investment solutions, Faith unpacked what it really takes to understand global markets and position yourself for success.

Participants explored how to identify high-value opportunities, diversify their portfolios, and adopt a global mindset toward wealth creation. Faith also introduced Mansa-X, a multi-asset investment fund that opens access to global markets; one of SIB’s flagship financial solutions, which enables investors to access international markets and grow wealth strategically while minimizing risk.

Through practical examples and relatable insights, Faith reminded participants that global investing isn’t just for a privileged few — it’s an accessible, powerful step for anyone ready to scale their financial future.

“Don’t just be a spectator in the global economy — learn how to become a global investor.” – Faith Zinzia

The session left participants inspired to think bigger, invest smarter, and embrace a truly global perspective in their financial journeys.

WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UPTO

ASSEK CEO & Founders Roundtable

Image description

As part of our ongoing commitment to collaboration and ecosystem growth, Live Your Dream Enterprises Ltd joined fellow ecosystem leaders at the 7th Edition of the ASSEK CEO & Founders Roundtable, held under the theme “Shaping the Future of Sustainable Entrepreneurship.”

Represented by Edna Onyach along with Anthonia Mutunga and Mercy Okoth, LYD participated in insightful discussions on how Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) can strengthen leadership capacity, drive inclusive growth, and sustain long-term impact within Kenya’s dynamic entrepreneurial landscape.

Key highlights included:

  • A powerful keynote on Leadership for System Change, emphasizing that lasting transformation begins with mindset shifts and collective action.

  • A dynamic panel on Adaptive Leadership in Times of Transformation, underscoring the need for resilience, innovation, and digital readiness in today’s fast-evolving landscape.

  • An engaging roundtable dialogue where ESOs and founders identified shared priorities and forged actionable partnerships to accelerate MSME growth across the region.

As Mercy Kimalat, CEO of ASSEK, closed the event, participants were reminded that these insights will directly shape the strategic roadmap for the upcoming 7th ASSEK Annual Conference this November.

The conversation continues — and LYD remains proud to be part of the movement shaping sustainable entrepreneurship in Kenya and beyond.

Nairobi County Biashara Stimulus Forum & Strategic Breakfast Meeting

Live Your Dream Enterprises joined other ecosystem partners at the Nairobi County Biashara Stimulus Forum, hosted by the Directorate of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at Panari Hotel. The strategic meeting brought together key players across government, financial institutions, and the private sector to discuss interventions, financing models, and collaboration opportunities to strengthen the MSME ecosystem in alignment with Vision 2030 and the Governor’s Manifesto.

We engaged in discussions around skills development, market access, and capacity building — key focus areas that align closely with our ongoing initiatives under the Women in Digital Business (WIDB) program.

The session, moderated by Muthoni Njoroge (Executive Director, Credence Africa), featured insightful contributions from Dr. Anastasia Nyalita, County Executive Committee Member for Business and Hustler Opportunities, and Mr. Godfrey Akumali, Ag. County Secretary and Chief Officer, who outlined the County’s roadmap for inclusive and sustainable enterprise growth.

Key partners including KCB Bank, UNIDO, GIZ, KEPSA, and the Institute of Certified SIYB Trainers (ICST) presented models for collaboration — from financing and digital skilling to policy reform and MSME market integration.

The County reaffirmed its commitment to long-term, structured partnerships to drive Nairobi’s entrepreneurial transformation — a vision Live Your Dream proudly supports.

Regional Collaboration: AfriLabs

Image description

We were delighted to join the regional innovation ecosystem during the Timbuktoo Validation Workshop, held alongside the Afrilabs Annual Gathering at the United Nations Office at Nairobi. The Timbuktoo initiative is a UNDP-led effort to catalyze Africa’s startup ecosystem that brings together key ecosystem players, hubs, and development partners to co-create strategies that unlock opportunities for young innovators and startups across the continent.

By participating in this workshop, we strengthened our connections with regional stakeholders, shared insights from our MSME development programs, and explored pathways to contribute meaningfully to the Timbuktoo mission of building Africa’s innovation-driven economy. Our participation reflects our continued commitment to fostering inclusive entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and sustainable growth through regional collaboration.

✍The Knowledge Corner✍

Harnessing COMESA’s Digital Payments Revolution

Image description

Did you hear? The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) recently launched a Digital Retail Payments Platform, allowing cross-border trade to be settled in local currencies — no need to convert to USD. This move could reduce transaction costs for MSMEs to below 3% and remove a major barrier for entrepreneurs trading across the region.

For LYD entrepreneurs, this is a game-changer. It means you can expand your reach without the currency risk, pricing loss, or banking friction. To leverage it:

  • Map your supply and demand markets within COMESA

  • Adjust your pricing and currency strategies

  • Use payment partners integrated into the new system

  • Forecast cash flow with local currency stability

As Africa deepens its regional integration, those who adopt early benefit most. This isn’t just innovation; it’s infrastructure for scalable, resilient trade across borders.
