Get ready to have some fun—our first school dance of the year is almost here! We can't wait to kick off the new year with music, friends, and dancing.

  • When: Friday, October 24
  • Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Please read the following guidelines to ensure a safe and fun event for everyone:

  • Costumes are NOT Required: The dance is not a costume party. You are welcome to wear regular school-appropriate attire.
  • No Face Masks or Props: For safety and identification purposes, face masks may not be worn at the dance. Please also leave any props or accessories at home.
  • No In-and-Out Privileges: We will have a strict no re-entry policy. Once a student enters the dance, they will not be allowed to leave until the conclusion of the dance.
  • No Early Departure. Students may not leave early.
  • This event is for Taylor students only
  • Students on the Loss of Privilege list may not attend.

We look forward to a great night!

Unity Day

Unity Day, started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in October 2011, is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month. This is a day when we can come together to send a visible message of building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. The call to action is simple: wear and share the color orange. This vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, showing support for students who have been bullied and for bullying prevention.

Debate Club

Kevin Chen, a senior at The Nueva School and a former student at Taylor (class of '22), with the help of Mr. Chen, started an after-school debate program at Taylor last school year and we're planning to continue it this year on Fridays after school from 3 PM to 4:30 PM in Room A2.

Starting debate early substantially increases student odds of doing well in high school debate, and it's also a great opportunity to catch up with current events and practice extemporaneous speaking and critical thinking. If you're interested, please fill out the form below to register.

After the program begins with our first meeting on September 26th. Weekly emails will be sent to students and their families regarding the content we covered at our Friday practice with some additional suggested reading.

Thank you for your consideration!

To learn more about the program, you can email Kevin for debate and coaching questions and Ms. Zlatunich and Mr. Chen for any others.

    Peninsula Math Circle

Peninsula Math Circle is a new course that Connor Leong (a junior at BHS and one of only 30 students nationwide to qualify for the USA International Math Olympiad Team Selection Group) and Kevin Chu (a parent coach of Burlingame’s math team) are offering through Burlingame Parks & Recreation this fall.

The course is intended for 7th-9th graders (though 10th graders who are just getting into competition math are welcome). The fall sessions will be focused on math competition topics that are common on middle school competitions (AMC 8, MATHCOUNTS) and high school competitions (AMC 10/12). The sessions are appropriate for any student who wants to improve their problem-solving skills and are enthusiastic about learning math beyond what’s taught in school (for instance, number theory, combinatorics, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry).

      Session 2

Dates: Saturdays from 11/1 through 12/20
      (except for 11/29)

      Time: 2:00-3:30pm

      Location: Burlingame Community Center
