My INsnyde Take: Even Evan Bayh Thinks Braun’s Redistricting Is A Circus
|
|
Former Senator and Governor Evan Bayh didn’t mince words when asked about Indiana’s mid-cycle redistricting stunt — calling it what it is: unprecedented and wrong. Speaking with Gary Snyder, Bayh said he’d never seen or heard of a state redrawing maps mid-decade, and that none of the presidents he served with — Republican or Democrat — would ever dream of asking a governor to pull something that shady. As Bayh put it, if JD Vance is really coming to Indiana to twist arms for Trump’s latest gerrymander fantasy, it’ll only fire up Democrats. “Thanks, but no thanks,” he quipped about how he’d respond to such a demand — a line that perfectly sums up how most Hoosiers feel about Washington trying to rig Indiana’s political map for partisan gain. |

The Label Is Wrong Several media outlets recently reported on a Gallup poll finding that forty-three percent of Americans think the current Supreme Court is “too conservative.” Excuse me, but that finding is an example of a fundamental misperception that infests current American debates, and keeps our political arguments unilluminating and unproductive.

Jack Ciattarelli Pushed to Strip Job Protections from Local Health Workers During his time in the New Jersey Assembly, Jack Ciattarelli pushed legislation that would have stripped city health workers of their long-standing labor protections. In a 2013 interview, he acknowledged that he wanted to remove civil service and tenure rules so that municipalities could downsize local health departments and shift services to county control. |

More Falling Behind on Car Payments... Since the pandemic, buyers on auto-dealer lots have encountered surging sticker prices and smaller incentives from automakers to lessen the blow. To afford an automobile, more consumers, especially lower-income families, have resorted to buying used cars and taking out longer loans.

Colts kicker Spencer Shrader out for the season with knee injury Late in the second quarter, Raiders safety Tristin McCollum ran into Shrader's right knee during an extra point attempt. The Colts went for 2 on each of their remaining touchdown drives in part because they would have needed a replacement for holder Rigoberto Sanchez, the backup kicker.
