October 16, 2025 (Toronto, ON) // In the lead up to their upcoming album Black Avalanche, ONE HUNDRED MOONS has released their latest single “The Architect”. Starting with a deep resonant bass line setting an utmost dark and atmospheric soundscape, this track gives way to an imaginative sonic voyage that builds tension and momentum toward a dismantling climax resolved into an abrupt stillness.

In their lyrical narrative, the song struggles with themes of self-imposed pressure and personal responsibility. Initially born from a stream of consciousness pondering human agency and the absence of a higher authority, the track transformed into a study of overthinking and the hazards of allowing a spiral of thought to proceed unchecked. Retaining the title The Architect remains a strong declaration of this thread, suggesting that we are, in fact, the architects of our own paths.

The single is propelled by its dynamic contrasts, with layers of ominous sounds. The track is one built on tension, using sound to express the twists and turns of self-reflection and existential musings, all while wrapping listeners in the band’s signature ONE HUNDRED MOONS aura.

The release comes as ONE HUNDRED MOONS continues their fall tour across Ontario, hitting Waterloo, Oshawa, Niagara, Toronto, Hamilton, and Windsor. Fans can now pre-save Black Avalanche, getting ready to experience the full depth and atmosphere of the upcoming album as the band brings their sound to the stage this autumn.

“The Architect” is a small window into one of the many complicated terrains explored on Black Avalanche, where tension, mood, and melody are three entirely interwoven concepts. ONE HUNDRED MOONS continues to push the boundaries of shoegaze further while conjuring some very haunting and deeply affecting music.
