Krakow University of Economics at the AACSB Deans Conference in Toronto

Between 19 and 21 October 2025, the Rector of the Krakow University of Economics, Prof. Dr Habil. Bernard Ziębicki, Associate Professor and the Director of the International Relations Office, Dr Habil. Katarzyna Sanak-Kosmowska, Associate Professor, represented the University at the AACSB Deans Conference “Business Schools at a Crossroads: Redefining Relevance”, held in Toronto, Canada.



The event, organized by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – one of the world’s most prestigious accrediting bodies in business education – gathered more than 700 business school deans from across the globe.

Inauguration of the 101st Academic Year at the Krakow University of Economics

“Today we inaugurate the 101st academic year in the history of the Krakow University of Economics. Our University was founded in 1925 as the Higher School of Commerce – the third higher school of commerce in the Second Polish Republic – and for one hundred years it has been educating highly qualified specialists, as well as shaping intellectually independent individuals capable of inspiring and developing new economic ideas,” said Rector Dr Habil. Bernard Ziębicki, Associate Professor, during the ceremonial inauguration of the 101st Academic Year, held on October 6, 2025.

Official Meeting at Xi’an Jiaotong University and signing of a Cooperation Agreement

On September 29, 2025, during a several-week research stay at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Dr Habil. Michał Gluszak, Associate Professor, and Dr Habil. Bartłomiej Marona, Associate Professor, from the Department of Real Estate and Investment Process of KUE, took part in an official meeting with the authorities of the university — one of the top institutions in China, ranked among the world’s top 100 in the Shanghai ranking.



During the visit, details of cooperation between the two universities were discussed, and a formal cooperation agreement was ceremonially signed between the Krakow University of Economics and Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Rector of the KUE Participated in the 85th Anniversary Ceremony of the Bratislava University of Economics and Business

On 14 October, Dr Habil. Bernard Ziębicki, Associate Professor, took part in a ceremonial gathering of the academic community of the Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA), held on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of this prestigious Slovak university. The visit served both to honour its academic tradition and to strengthen international cooperation.



KUE has maintained cooperation with the EUBA for 35 years.

KUE receives NAWA funding for a project supporting internationalization

The International Relations Center at the Krakow University of Economics has secured PLN 301,166 from the “Welcome to Poland” programme administered by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).



Through the efforts of the International Relations Center, the University has signed an agreement with NAWA to implement another project under Welcome to Poland. The project, titled “Creating a Welcoming Environment for International Academic Exchange”, will receive funding of PLN 301,166.

DEDYCATING Project Partners’ Meeting in Krakow

Between 14 and 17 October 2025, the second international partners’ meeting of the DEDYCATING project took place at the Krakow University of Economics, combined with a transnational training event. The event was hosted by the Department of Public Management.



The DEDYCATING project is implemented under the Erasmus+ KA220-HED – Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education programme. Its goal is to develop innovative and flexible curricula in the field of ESG, supported by generative artificial intelligence tools.

Blended Intensive Programme with the European Real Estate Society

The Department of Real Estate and Investment Process at Krakow University of Economics, together with partners from European University Cyprus, Technical University of Vienna and University of Rome Tor Vergata, co-organised the first edition of the Blended Intensive Programme under the auspices of the European Real Estate Society.



The programme, themed “Cultural Heritage Protection and Tourism Investment Development” gathered27 students and academics from six universities, combining online sessions, a virtual tour of Tivoli and on-site clesses in Rome. Logistics on the KUE side were provided by the International Programs Office.

International Summer School “Towards the Green and Blue Economy”

The Krakow University of Economics is hosting students from Akita University (Japan) as part of the International Summer School, held under the theme “Towards the Green and Blue Economy.” The event is organized by the Department of Sustainable Development Finance, with Dr Ksymena Rosiek, Assistant Professor, serving as the Polish coordinator.



The joint academic and educational activities between the two universities have resulted not only in the exchange of students and academic staff but also in numerous collaborative research initiatives in the field of sustainable development.

Ms. Justyna Tomala and Dr Habil. Maria Urbaniec, Associate Professor from the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the KUE participated in a partner meeting of the Erasmus+ project GenESG – Sustainable Finance Microlearning with Educational Generative AI in Sofia, Bulgaria.



Hosted by the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), the meeting focused on project progress, developing a sustainable finance course, and creating a virtual academy for educators. The GenESG project addresses ESG skill gaps in higher education using microlearning and AI tools. It runs from December 2024 to November 2026, involving partners from Austria, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Poland.

Dr Jurij Renkas, Assistant Professor from the Department of Accounting of the KUE completed a teaching visit at the Tashkent State University of Economics, KUE’s partner institution in the capital of Uzbekistan. The visit was carried out under the Erasmus+ KA171 programme and aimed to deliver a series of academic classes.



During the five-day stay, Dr Renkas conducted classes for students, focusing on practical and international aspects of accounting and finance. The visit provided an excellent opportunity for the exchange of teaching experiences and for presenting a Polish perspective on selected economic issues.



During his stay, Dr Renkas was invited to participate in the International Conference “Erasmus Center of Excellence in Sustainable Business and Finance (ECESBF)”, which took place at the host university.
