My INsnyde Take: Beau Bayh Lives Rent-Free in MAGA Land

Republicans are absolutely melting down over Beau Bayh running for Indiana Secretary of State — a young Marine officer, Harvard Law grad, and Hoosier moving into his new place has them spinning like a Fox News panel on decaf. The same crowd that claims to “support the troops” seems deeply offended by a Marine who actually served. They can’t wrap their heads around a young man who’s lived a life of service, earned degrees through hard work, and chosen to step into public life. Maybe their real problem isn’t where Beau Bayh lives, but the fact that he represents everything they’ve failed to produce — integrity, education, and a sense of duty beyond political grift.

And while Indiana MAGA world hyperventilates over Beau’s address, they might want to check their own backyard. Diego Morales, their handpicked “election integrity” crusader, has a résumé full of red flags: using taxpayer dollars for a luxury SUV, hiring his brother-in-law to a six-figure state-funded job, and racking up tens of thousands in travel expenses on the public dime. So before they lecture Beau Bayh about being “authentic” or “Hoosier enough,” maybe they should ask themselves why corruption, nepotism, and hypocrisy have become the real Republican brand in Indiana.
