EDFA Q3 Supervisory Board Meeting in Budapest

The EDFA Supervisory Board met on 9 September in Budapest for a productive session focused on strategy, public affairs priorities, partnerships, and ongoing programs in advocacy, networking, and industry insights.

Noam Perets Appointed EDFA Secretary General

We’re pleased to announce that Noam Perets has been appointed Secretary General of the European Digital Finance Association. The appointment was made during the Supervisory Board Meeting in Budapest, marking an important step in strengthening EDFA’s leadership and advancing its mission.



Fintech Café - October 2025
On 1 October, EDFA hosted the fourth Fintech Café, bringing together fintech associations and experts to exchange views on key EU policy developments. This session focused on CBDCs, Stablecoins, and the 28th Regime, with reflections on FiDA and the European Innovation Act.

EDFA’s Q4 Supervisory Board Meeting - Warsaw
Our Q4 Supervisory Board Meeting will take place in Warsaw, hosted by FinTech Poland, alongside Warsaw Finance Week 2025. This end-of-year meeting will be an opportunity to reflect on our progress, set priorities for 2026, and strengthen collaboration across our community.

    EDFA Joins EU Fintech Industry Letter in Defence of FIDA

    EDFA has joined ETPPA and 24 leading fintech organisations in signing a joint letter urging EU policymakers to preserve the ambition of the Framework for Financial Data Access (FIDA). The letter calls for an enabling open finance framework that supports innovation, competition, and consumer empowerment across Europe.

    EDFA Meets the Central Bank of Hungary

    On 10 September 2025, the EDFA Board met with the Central Bank of Hungary in Budapest to strengthen regulatory dialogue and cross-border collaboration within Europe’s fintech ecosystem. The discussion focused on innovation, payments, and opportunities for deeper cooperation between ecosystems.

    Bridging Borders: Fintech and Regulators for a Stronger Savings and Investments Union

    On 19 November in Paris, EDFA will launch its new Bridging Borders Roundtables - a series connecting fintech associations and national supervisors across Europe to foster dialogue and cooperation.
    The first edition will focus on building a stronger Savings and Investments Union by addressing fragmentation and promoting cross-border growth for fintechs and SMEs.

          Joint Position Paper: Building Europe’s Crowdfunding Future

          On September 18, EDFA published its Position Paper “Building Europe’s Crowdfunding Future”, supported by 25 fintech associations across Europe. The document outlines 10 concrete proposals to develop a €1 trillion crowdfunding industry by 2030, with tailored recommendations for 19 jurisdictions. Key priorities include regulatory simplification, tax incentives, integration into the Savings and Investment Union, and greater recognition of ECSPs. A unified call to unlock the full potential of crowdfunding as a driver of growth, innovation, and financial inclusion across Europe.

              EDFA Responds to European Commission Consultation on the 28th Regime

              EDFA has submitted its official response to the European Commission’s consultation on the 28th Regime, marking an important step for Europe’s fintech community. The response, developed under EDFA’s Task Force on the 28th Regime and the European Innovation Act, highlights key priorities such as digital-by-default operations, cross-border efficiency, and harmonised investment frameworks.
