Tis the Advent season and I love this time year! Yes, I'm one of 'those' who decorate early and take down late. And I love every single minute. Even the studio gets its own tree and practically every sculpture gets a touch of festive flair. IN THE STUDIO: I've completed a portrait bust that I will be shipping soon, and have another sculpture in progress as well as a large oil painting.

I've been honored to be asked by the Museum of the City of New York to have my sculpture of Margaret Corbin on loan for their exhibit next year celebrating the historic part that New York City played during the American Revolution: The Occupied City

At the Battle of New York, John Corbin, Margaret's husband, served with a crew for firing cannons. Margaret followed her husband in the army, and when he was fatally shot during the battle, Margaret bravely took his place in the crew and continued firing the cannon until she was shot and severaly injured. Margaret was taken prisoner and later released. Washington gave her a soldier's pension after the war due to her heroic efforts in the battle. Margaret's grave is at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Her bravery and courage is an example of the heroism found in the people of our Nation during that stand for Independence.

This exhibit begins in May 2026 and will include interactive exhibits such as a reproduction of a tavern and print shop. There will be historic artifacts and even a recreation of 'tent city' showing the living conditions of those who were misplaced from their homes after the fire that swept the city. To view more photos of my sculpture of Margaret Corbin, look through my Historic section of the Gallery on my site.
