AEG News

New Melbourne Campus Location

We are proud to formally launch the new Melbourne Campus at Queen Street, home to both the Adelaide Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) and the Adelaide Institute of Business & Technology (AIBT), both part of the Adelaide Education Group (AEG).

This milestone reflects growth, resilience, and future possibilities for our students, staff, and partners. Our new campus offers a larger, modern learning environment designed to foster collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation. More than an expansion, it is a statement of our ongoing commitment to excellence and student success.

The launch evening was a memorable celebration, led by AIHE CEO and AEG Head of Advancement Fatima Reyes-Della Verde, who emceed the program. Guests heard inspiring messages from AEG President/Founder and CEO of AIBT Don Chen, AIHE Council Chair Nigel Smalls, and AIHE Head of School Dr Wasana Jayawickramarathna. The program also included recognition of our dedicated staff and valued education agents, and the joy of community as the ribbon was cut and this new beginning was marked.

We extend our gratitude to our students, Council members, regulators who uphold quality and compliance in our sector, academics, professional staff, education partners, industry partners, and service providers for their vital role in this journey. This campus will serve as a hub of opportunity, pathways, and connection, strengthening AEG’s integrated ecosystem of secondary, vocational, higher education, English language, and research.

The new campus embodies our shared promise of what is possible when we work together.

AEG Celebrates World Gratitude Day

Gratitude is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to bring joy and meaning into our lives. On World Gratitude Day, AEG paused, reflected, and acknowledged the people who make a difference in our journey as a community. As part of our celebration, students and staff were invited to take part in a simple activity:

  • Think of a person or thing you are truly grateful for - someone who has inspired you, supported you, or simply brightened your days.
  • Write it down on a piece of paper.
  • Drop it into our Gratitude Box at the front desk.

Through small acts of appreciation, we build stronger connections, nurture resilience, and foster a culture where everyone can thrive.

AIHE x AIBT Cultural Festival

Students and staff at the Melbourne Campus of AIHE, together with AIBT of the AEG, came together to celebrate diversity, share traditions, and connect as a community. The campus was filled with energy, colour, and pride as we enjoyed:

  • Multicultural finger food
  • Best Dish and Outfit Competition
  • Traditional music, dancing and fun

It was a true showcase of the rich cultural tapestry that makes AIHE unique. Moments like these remind us that education is not only about learning in the classroom. It is also about celebrating who we are, learning from one another, and building community across cultures.

Keep Calm and Man On

The Adelaide Education Group hosted a special session for our fathers, soon-to-be fathers, stand-in fathers, and father figures at AIHE, AIBT, and Adelaide International School (AIS). We were honoured to welcome Mr. Mustafa Kadir, Managing Director of Visgrow Internships and longtime lecturer at AIHE, as our guest speaker for "Keep Calm and Man On: The He-Man’s Toolbox for Stress Management". The session was both practical and empowering, offering tools to manage stress, balance responsibilities, and strengthen resilience. While designed with fatherhood in mind, the insights shared found strong applicability to the whole AEG community, reminding us all of the importance of wellbeing in every role we play.

Our thanks also go to Dr. Faisal Abdullah, AIHE Senior Lecturer, for introducing our speaker, and to Dr. Nick Hadjinicolaou, Founding President of the International Association for Strategy Professionals Australia and a longtime lecturer at AIHE, for closing the program with words of appreciation. Most importantly, thank you to all our AEG dads, role models, and community members who joined us; your presence made this event truly meaningful.

At AEG, we are proud to support not only academic and professional success but also the personal growth and wellbeing of our people.

Student Experience Survey Result

2023-2024

Our MBA students have spoken, and their feedback shows AIHE continues to deliver an experience well above national benchmarks, highlighting AIHE’s strengths in teaching quality, student support, peer engagement, and skills development:

88.3% had a positive overall experience (national average: 76.9%)

95.9% felt positive about their skills development (national average: 82.6%)

90.5% rated teaching practices positively (national average: 82.7%)

90.8% were positive about their interactions with peers (national average: 59.2%)

93.1% rated support and services positively (national average: 76.1%)

81.7% were happy with facilities and resources (close to the national average of 84.9%)

The Student Experience Survey (SES) is a national initiative that collects feedback directly from higher education students across Australia. It provides important insights into the quality of teaching, learning, and student support and helps institutions like AIHE ensure we meet and exceed student expectations.

At AIHE, student voice drives our continuous improvement. We are grateful to our MBA students for their feedback through the SES, which provides valuable insights across teaching quality, student support, peer engagement, skills development, and facilities. Your input guides us in strengthening each of these areas so we can deliver a learning experience that combines academic excellence with practical relevance and supports every student’s success.
