Sorry that the dispatch of this newsletter cuts it terribly close to the only musical events of note I have happening this month, yet again. I do want to be better at giving some notice. I put much into my music and feel incredibly lucky when you choose to spend your time listening to me play for you.



Officially, I will be playing at 45th Parallel Wines this Saturday evening between 6 and 8pm, trading tunes back and forth with my dear friend Rocky Seahorse. He's graciously agreed to split my set so I'm forced to pace myself to avoid further inflaming my hand.



Oh, yes. My left hand and wrist have been slightly injured for just about two months now. Since I've been instructed to practice less--hobbled to a mere 30 minutes for every 4-hour stretch when I used to practice for whole 4-hour stretches--and also since I've somewhat recently acquired a shiny new short scale ergonomic 5-string bass, the stiffness and tingling has let up quite a bit.

Unofficially, I'm singing on a couple of tunes with the Rocky Seahorse band tomorrow (Friday) night at Starday Tavern in celebration of his new single, O Whale. I'm very stoked about it!! One of my personal favorite local artists, Leo Moon, is kicking it off at 8pm and the "Queen of Coastal Country" Olivia Lyon will finish out the night. It will also be my first time singing in a full band context since I left San Jose a couple of years ago.
