| |
| Let's lift up our hearts with prayer, discussion, and fellowship. Monday, August 11 from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Witness: Dr. Noah Gomez
Noah comes to Rochester pursuing virtue in the sacraments of the faith and service through medicine. He is Restore Health and Wellness‘s OB/GYN, who recently moved here with his new wife from Buffalo. It’s the prayers of the heart of Saint Michael’s family protection Institute that calls him here and intercedes for his family’s protection. Let’s give him a warm welcome!

| We Need Spiritual White Space |
Bartalini draws a powerful analogy from art and design: white space—the quiet, empty zones—is essential for contrast, clarity, and rest. |
She extends this concept beyond the visual, arguing that we also need white space physically (like a clear shelf), mentally, and spiritually. In the spiritual sense, “white space” becomes silence in prayer—a pause where we simply are with God, rather than continually asking or doing.
Although silence can feel uncomfortable or even threatening, Bartalini emphasizes that this stillness creates space for God’s presence and peace to surface.
She encourages a gradual practice: begin with just 5–10 minutes of silent prayer, extend it to 20, then to 30 minutes or more, and maintain that time faithfully—even when distractions, boredom, or a sense of pointlessness arise. |
