Enjoying the fun and frustration of golf while not taking ourselves too seriously.

Fun League Jun 24th Results

A tantalizing end to the 1st Half! It ended up going to a tiebreaker between Bob & Mike and Dan & Tom. We had to go to the tiebreaker of points scored against common opponents. Bob & Mike emerged triumphant! Congrats gentlemen!

Jun 24th Notes

Best Net Score: Jeff K, Dan W, Jared B, Jason S

Notable Hole Scores: None(!)

Schedule & Standings PDF - Updated Real Time

Plan for July 1st

  • With this being the July 4th holiday week, we will have our usual 3-Club/Limited Club Tourney. It has been known as the 3-Club Tourney but really is a limited club event for you can pay to use up to 6 clubs. All the info below.
  • If you want to enjoy a regular round and not participate in the event, that is just fine. I believe one matchup for the following week is going to play this week.
  • The weather forecast looks good. Come on out and join us!

3-Club/Limited Club Tourney Rules

  1. Individual Competition - You can golf with any league members that you choose. We are playing the Front 9.
  2. $3 entry fee for a minimum of 3 clubs ($1 per club). Your putter is a club. Maximum of 6 clubs. Maximum fee is $6. Declare the number of clubs to your foursome before you start. Entry fee will be paid in the 3-Putt Pub after golf.
  3. Your individual gross score minus your current handicap will equal your net score for the event. One mulligan and breakfast ball is permitted as usual.
  4. We will pay out the total event entry fee for low net scores based on the number of golfers.
  5. Hole Prizes - Playing the Front Nine (1st group out may have to take out the markers). Last group bring them in, please!
    1. Hole #4 closest to the pin - 1st shot
    2. Hole #6 longest putt on green
    3. Hole #8 longest drive in fairway
  6. All prizes and winnings will be calculated and awarded in the 3-Putt Pub after golf.

Mulligan Fund

$26 - Pizza was enjoyed this past week.

Pace of Play

A reminder to be aware of your pace of play and play ready golf. We are not asking you to rush, but we are asking everyone to do the little things to be ready to play when it is your turn. Plan your shot before you get to your ball and move forward towards your next shot as soon as possible. You can do this while others are getting ready to hit if you are not disturbing them. Park your cart in a position that allows you to quickly exit the hole and doesn't keep the next group from hitting. These little things go a long way!

Extra Team

  • With us currently having 13 teams, that means the Extra Team is in play. The Extra Team is #14 on the schedule. If you are scheduled to play that team, you will go play your round (you won't have a physical opponent to play with) and turn in your scores. We will randomly pick another team who played that week to match up against. The score sheets will detail who was selected as the "Extra Team" that week for the matchup.
  • A plug that we do have one person willing to play so if we can find one other person, we can get to a 14th team.

From 120 to 129 yards in the fairway, a scratch player will get down in two shots about 9% of the time. What percent of the time will they get down in four or more shots from that distance in the fairway?
