| Message from the President
As we head into summer, I am excited to share recent milestones and upcoming engagements that reflect Aquanty's continued commitment to advancing water science and technology. Here’s a quick look at where Aquanty has been this month: |

|
| - Power of Water Canada Conference (Niagara, May 7–9)
Debuted HydroSphereAI at booth #72— our team had a fantastic first showing at this event during its 25th anniversary— connecting with industry leaders and highlighting how our machine learning–based forecasting system can support real-time, data-driven decisions in the hydroelectricity sector. CWRA National Conference (Penticton, May 25–29) We participated in the CWRA 2025 National Conference in Penticton, BC— joining the national conversation on water resilience under the theme Living Between Waters. We also hosted the HydroSphereAI webinar led by Andre Erler, check out the recording below. Learn more »

Aquanty was also recently featured in the Manitoba Co-operator as part of a new climate resilience initiative with the Manitoba Forage & Grassland Association. Dr. Steve Frey shared how our modelling is helping forecast water availability and climate risks in the Pembina Valley and Assiniboine West regions. We're proud to support this important step toward more resilient agroecosystems in Manitoba.
|
|
Lastly, we were proud to once again support the Waterloo Wellington Children's Groundwater Festival, which ran from May 23–29 at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum, with an online component scheduled for early June. We’re always honoured to sponsor events that spark curiosity and learning about water from an early age.

|
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booths, attended our sessions, and connected with our team this month. We look forward to continuing the conversation in June.

| Latest HydroSphereAI Webinar Recording Is Now Available This month, we hosted our latest HydroSphereAI webinar, Machine Learning-Driven Insights and Hydrological Forecasting in a Changing Climate, led by Dr. Andre Erler. The session demonstrated how HydroSphereAI improves streamflow predictions— especially in ungauged basins— while enhancing accuracy through real-time data integration. If you missed it, the recording is now available.

Upcoming OWC Webinar We’re excited to bring HydroSphereAI to an even broader audience as part of the Ontario Water Consortium’s Innovation Webinar Series. Ontario’s leadership in water innovation will be on full display in this upcoming session:
Webinar 1: HydroSphereAI Date: Thursday, July 3 | 12:00–12:45 PM ET Presenter: Dr. Andre Erler, Aquanty
Explore how Aquanty uses machine learning to enhance flood forecasting and climate adaptation in Ontario’s watersheds. This 45-minute session is part of a series highlighting transformative technologies in water and wastewater management across Ontario. Registration is now open, and we encourage you to join us and the Ontario Water Consortium to see what’s next in data-driven water forecasting.

| Modeling fate and transport of E. coli in a small watershed with grazing lands around a pond This research investigates the fate and transport of E. coli in a small watershed with grazing lands surrounding a pond, using HydroGeoSphere (HGS) to develop a mechanistic numerical model. Understanding how E. coli moves through surface and subsurface water systems is crucial for managing microbial contamination risks in agricultural watersheds, where livestock activities can significantly impact water quality. | Canada1Water at GAC-MAC-IAH-CNC 2025 Canada1Water was well represented at the GAC-MAC-IAH-CNC 2025 conference in Ottawa through several key special sessions that brought forward critical conversations about water science, policy, and integrated modelling in Canada.
Notably, Dr. Steve Frey presented on "Assessing climate change impacts to surface and subsurface water resources in the Mackenzie River Basin using the Canada1Water framework" We were pleased to contribute to these important conversations and to help shape the ongoing dialogue around Canada’s water future. Want to know more about how climate change will impact Canadian water resources? Reach out the the C1W team!
