We are pleased to announce that Carolina Professional Consultants is merging with Professional Management Healthcare Consultants, Inc. Starting July 1, 2025, our combined firm will operate as Professional Management Healthcare Consultants, Inc.

By combining our strengths and expertise, we aim to deliver even greater value to our clients with our combined 128 years of healthcare consulting experience, sharing the same values and dedication to excellence. As part of the merger, we will now operate a second office in Kinston, NC. We remain fully committed to delivering high-quality service, now with elevated expertise, greater convenience, and expanded capacity.

With this exciting merger, join us in welcoming our new partner and consultant, Dan W. Aycock, Jr.! We thank you for your continued trust and look forward to continuing to provide our clients with exceptional service.

Dan W. Aycock Jr., MBA, EA, CHBC, Partner

Dan graduated from Catawba College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He continued his education at East Carolina University where he earned a Masters in Business Administration. After graduation, he pursued a career in management with a large independent insurance agency in North Carolina. He joined Carolina Professional Consultants in January 2009 before merging with PMHCC in 2025.

Dan currently resides in New Bern, NC with his wife, Kate, daughter, Emory, sons, Trey and Caison and yellow lab, Molly. He is an avid golfer and played four years of collegiate golf at Catawba College earning all-conference two of the four years. Dan also enjoys offshore fishing with his family and friends during his free time.

2025 Tax Law Updates

There are a lot of discussions among lawmakers about tax law changes coming in 2025. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is a budget reconciliation act that passed the House of Representatives on May 22, 2025. The Senate Finance Committee released its proposal June 16, 2025. Lawmakers have set an informal deadline to pass the tax bill by July 4, 2025; however, the process could take until late July or early August. We will continue to monitor this closely over the course of the summer and provide updates in future Newsletters.

Certain key provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 are set to expire after December 31, 2025, and there is a lot of discussion in the media about what the new tax bill will or will not contain. All tax planning projects are based on tax law currently in place unless otherwise noted. If something official is passed between now and the end of the year, we will do our best to incorporate the new tax provisions into our planning projects.

Amberlie Wilson

Amberlie joined the PMHCC team in May 2025 as an Accountant. Originally from West Virginia, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Concord University in 2024 before relocating to Raleigh, NC, a city she had always wanted to move to post-grad.

Outside of work, Amberlie enjoys playing pickleball, staying active on the Greenways, taking on DIY projects, thrifting, and traveling whenever she can.
