VoNat Welcomes First Onsite

Voice of Nature (VoNat) has welcomed Alistair Theodore Morell from the United Kingdom as its first onsite international volunteer. Alistair is a final-year Master’s student in Biodiversity, Wildlife, and Ecosystem Health at the University of Edinburgh. The VoNat team received him in Cameroon on February 1, 2025 for a 2-month internship programme that runs till March 31, 2025. Read More

World Wetlands Day: VoNat Joins MINEPDED, Other CSOs to Unearth Lake Nachtigal

Schools in Mount Mbam Area Get First Conservation Education Lessons

Over 200 school kids from GBPS Pagha and Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Bangourain have received their first-ever conservation education lessons, marking a significant milestone in Voice of Nature (VoNat)’s strive to bring back endangered species from the brink of extinction. VoNat organised this conservation education session in February 2025, on the heels of a baseline study in the Mount Mbam area focused on the region’s biodiversity, land use systems, environmental degradation, and socio-economic activities. The Executive Director (ED) of Voice of Nature (VoNat) recently participated in the 2025 National Geographic Africa Explorers Leadership Workshop in Nairobi-Kenya, organized under the theme: Building Community through Collaborative Leadership. The ED used the 6-day international workshop, January 25 to 30, 2025, to gain skills, build connections, and highlight VoNat’s Endangered Amphibians Conservation Initiative in Cameroon, specifically focusing on the goliath frog.
