| Fingers are crossed as the peregrines return |
|
Staunch watchers of the live feed on top of the Abbey have spotted a male and female peregrine discovering the artificial nesting site and making promising scratchings in the gravel. The male has also presented the female with the gift of some prey. Fingers are crossed that this is the start of a beautiful romance and family. At 8:30am on 20th March, I was checking the link from this newsletter and happened to catch a peregrine on the nest. It certainly brightened my day. |

| March's recreational walk took us from Shawford, up the Itchen Navigation (completed in 1710) and onto the hills of Hockley Golf Course, where we were treated to a cup of coffee in the sunshine. We returned down the hill to Hockley Mill and the water meadows. |
