Just one month left to submit your #GFN25 creative competition entries!

With just over a month to go until the submission deadline for your creative competition entries, it’s time to sit in the director’s chair and share your masterworks

GFN Fives and GFN Science Lab

GFN Fives are our alternative to conference posters. Since 2021, we’ve invited the GFN community to share five minute short films highlighting their slice of tobacco harm reduction news, regional policy updates, advocacy and educational insights. Check out previous GFN Fives entries on the GFN website for some excellent inspiration! Your GFN Fives entries can take the form of slide presentations with voiceover, animations, and short interviews, or your own innovative formats. All non-scientific GFN Fives entries will also be eligible for the GFN Film Festival, where there’s a 500 USD cash prize for the best-in-fest entry. Closing date for submissions is Wednesday 14 May 2025.

The GFN Science Lab builds on the success of the GFN Fives, giving you the opportunity to highlight your science and research in five minute short films. Selected entrants will then be invited to share their science in a 15 minute in-person presentation at GFN25 in Warsaw, with last year’s Science Lab presentations available to watch on our official Youtube channel. Closing date for submissions is Wednesday 14 May 2025.

GFN Film Festival and GFN Photo Festival

After the success of previous years, we’re delighted that the GFN Film Festival returns to #GFN25. We invite you to explore the impact of tobacco harm reduction and safer nicotine products in the form of short films, documentaries and animations, sharing the real-world impact of safer nicotine products through your unique lens. Selected films will be screened at GFN25 in Warsaw, and the winner of best-in-fest will receive a 500 USD cash prize.

If photography is more your style, then we have something just for you! The GFN Photo Festival is a brand new addition to the #GFN25 lineup. Use your photographic creativity to tackle what tobacco harm reduction means to you for the chance to win a 500 USD cash prize! Like the GFN Film Festival, selected entries will be displayed in Warsaw at #GFN25. Published and unpublished works can be submitted, as long as they fit the tobacco harm reduction theme. The submission deadline for the GFN Film and Photo Festivals is also Wednesday 14 May 2025.
