As we near the close of 2024, the SASTA Board and staff would like to thank you for being such an integral part of our community this year. Your passion and dedication to science education inspire everything we do. We wish you and your loved ones a joyful, relaxing, and safe festive season.



The SASTA office will be taking a break from Friday, 20 December, and will reopen on Tuesday, 14 January.

Friday 17 January - NEW FOR 2025

In this workshop attendees will look at a variety of themes which concern early career and pre-service teachers with regard to successful planning and execution of laboratory practical sessions. Teachers will be guided through a typical laboratory lesson including the planning of the lesson, safety concerns, equipment use and managing risk whilst students are working.

International Day of Women & Girls in Science - Q&A Panel

To celebrate the 2025 International Day of Women and Girls in Science the University of Adelaide in Collaboration with University of Technology Sydney and RMIT University are hosting an online Q and A panel. 



The panel will include 3 women at different stages of their STEM career, including an undergraduate student, a post-grad research student and an early career industry member. Whilst all our panellists will be women, all gendered students are welcome to attend the panel.

Toyota Dream Car Art Contest

Entries close 20 December



The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest encourages and inspires creative expression and imagination, challenging the boundaries of traditional thinking. It’s a chance for tomorrow’s engineers, designers, and creative thinkers to let their imaginations run wild by drawing their ‘Dream Car’.



Explore 12 Primary and Secondary lessons below created with Toyota to make entering a breeze.

All entries must be hand drawn and a minimum of A4 and a maximum of A3 sized. You may like to download a handy entry template from here or from any of the lessons to help your students start dreaming! Find out more here
