Greetings

In a week where a North Carolina man found $20 and used it to buy a lottery ticket worth $500,000, where New York announced it had met its goal of installing 6 gigawatts of solar power one year ahead of schedule, where a 14-year-old scientist invented a handheld device designed to detect pesticide residues on produce, where the British government indicated it had purchased the Chew Valley Hoard, the largest coin hoard ever found from the period of turmoil immediately following the Norman Conquest, and where the US elections are finally (thankfully!) drawing to a close, we're still talking games here at Meeple Mountain

We publish new articles, reviews, and lists almost a dozen times a week. Here's some of the things we've been talking about in the past week.

The Answer to Last Week's Puzzle

Last week we asked you to name the game that has the following on its map:

Tyros, Cyrene, Tomis, Olisipo, Attalia, and Sinope

These are all cities from Concordia!

What's New?

It's Halloween here at Meeple Mountain! A while back our own Jessie Fletcher wrote a Top 6 Spooky Games list, but I though I'd check in with the team to see which games they think of this time of the year.

Mark Iradian

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the one I reviewed I think a year or two ago.

David McMillan

I'm not a fan of Halloween, so I don't have a lot to choose from. But, my wife and I enjoy Patchwork, so Patchwork: Halloween edition finds its way to the table at least once a year around this time.

K. David Ladage

Mysterium and Mysterium Park are favorites around here. Gloom is amazing, and Weirdwood Manor comes to mind.

We have a copy of the board game The Shining, but have not yet gotten around to playing it. My daughter would like to add Wakening Lair to the list (it is a stretch, but not a long one).

Jessie Fletcher

This is a pretty solid theme for me:

Mansions of Madness, Abomination: Heir of Frankenstein, Fury of Dracula, Horrified, Betrayal at House on the Hill

Abram Towle

My Father's Work was a fun romp through some spooky scenery, with plenty of narrative to set the mood.

Clayton Schoonover

While I enjoy Nemesis and Kingdom Death: Monster a lot, I can't forget the classics I keep going back to, and Dead of Winter is at the top of the list for me.
