Come and find out more about River Thame Conservation Trust

Every two months local groups involved in conservation and climate recovery work in and around Thame get together to share updates, ideas and learning.

The next meeting will run slightly differently, with a presentation and Q& A from River Thame Conservation Trust. Everyone is invited - whether or not you normally attend the forum or not. The RTCT presentation will be followed by a short update from Cuttle Brook Conservation Volunteers, who work closely in partnership with RTCT. So come along and learn more about both of these fabulous organisations.

The event will take place on Thursday 28th November 6.45 for 7pm start upstairs at Thame Town Hall.

Oxfordshire's draft Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) consultation - phase 3

Earlier in February and March 2024 OCC asked people and organisations in Oxfordshire about their priorities for nature’s recovery. In May 2024 they also collected information about specific locations where people and organisations are planning actions to recover biodiversity in Oxfordshire. Now they have used this information to create draft versions of the LNRS documents and a map which you can find within their consultation page.

The drafted documents and draft map aim to summarise the top biodiversity priorities to people and organisations in Oxfordshire. The draft map also aims to identify specific locations where some of these actions could be delivered to create 'areas that could become of particular importance to biodiversity' in the future.

Their consultation page contains questions which invite you to tell the LNRS team about your thoughts on the priorities, actions, and locations which have been drafted so far. Hearing your thoughts on these draft documents and the draft map will help them to create a final Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Oxfordshire in 2025.

Phase 3 survey closes (at 11:59 pm)
      01 December 2024

        Thame Environmental Forum

        Thame & Surrou45nds Environmental Forum

        28/11/2024, 6.30pm for a 7pm start

        Location: Thame Town Hall

A regular meeting with the purpose of working together to embed environmental issues in the community muscle – ensuring they become an integral part of community and citizen life (and ultimately a part of political life), recognising that much of this work will have to happen through empowering, connecting and nurturing community groups, rather than creating a plethora of ‘new’ initiatives through the Environmental Forum.
