This week I asked the team, What game has sat, unplayed, for the longest time on your game shelves? And why? Here are their responses:
Tom Franklin
The Farming Game. It was given to me by my SIL, who is a fellow board gamer. He was told it was a realistic farming experience game, a theme that didn't hold much appeal to me. Agricola, sure; modern-day farming? Not so much. Birthday
K. David Ladage
The Princess Bride Adventure Book game. It was a gift, and it is one that would interest only my wife and I... so it has sat unplayed for far too long as we play games with others.
Bob Pazehoski, Jr.
City of the Great Machine is a case where I know who I intended to play with, but that scenario just hasn't happened yet. I've chosen to wait it out.
Jesse Fletcher
I was holding onto an unplayed King’s Dilemma until I finally faced reality and gave up on a 5p legacy game
Abram Towle
I have had an unopened copy of Furnace for so long despite all the rave reviews. I blame its location on the shelf because it blends in with the edge, so maybe I should move it.
David McMillan
I bought a copy of Carcassonne: Wheel of Fortune in 2018, and I suppose the only reason it hasn't gotten played was that, since it's both a standalone game as well as an expansion, it wouldn't fit inside of the base Carcassonne box. Now that I own the Carcassonne Big Box, maybe it's time to finally get it to the table.

Hmm. Mine's probably Planet Unknown? Been there for about a year, still in shrink wrap. Everything else I think has hit the table at least once.
Clayton Schoonover
Space Empires 4X. I don't even remember getting it. I just was born with it, I guess. Never played.
