Image description

🗓️ September 19th - October 6th, 2024

📌L’Atelier, 1 Rue de Châteaubriand, Nantes (FR)

It is with great pleasure that CUMEDIAE and the whole MANIFEST Consortium announce the upcoming Exhibition of the Project an immersive experience that combines art, reimagination, and mixed media!

After two years of fruitful exploration, cross-border exchange, and conversation around our shared past, the co-creation Journey that brought the artists and the production partners involved in Project MANIFEST across three different countries is approaching its final chapter - the presentation of the Final Exhibition. Through 13 artworks, visitors are invited to re-discover the traces of Colonial enslavement and engage deeply with the past through a modern, immersive lens. The exhibition places artistic exploration and experimentation across mixed media at the heart of the evocation of these historical legacies.

🎨 13 artworks by 22 international artists: discover how artists and collectives coming from 13 countries and diverse backgrounds engaged and experimented, and in some cases went deeper into the historical archives around the transatlantic trade of enslaved people, and colonial enslavement.

📹 An immersive, interactive experience: delve into the history and legacies of the transatlantic route through mixed media art, including virtual and augmented reality works, and video, sound and image installations.

📚 Historical, artistic and digital fusion: explore how the Exhibition integrates artistic and digital creation with historical storytelling to make the history of the transatlantic trade of enslaved people accessible to all.

Wrapping up Project Butterfly's Residency in Gdańsk!

Image description

A month ago, CUMEDIAE had the pleasure to take part in the Project Butterfly Partners Meeting in Gdańsk. This event brought together the librettists, creative team, and Consortium members of Project Butterfly, laying the groundwork for an innovative opera production focused on sustainability.

CUMEDIAE’s Projects and Communications Manager Constantin van Grevenstein aptly summarized the spirit of the event:

It is always fascinating to see a project come together. Gdańsk and Opera Baltycka provided the perfect backdrop for the consortium and creative team to meet for the first time. Witnessing all the stakeholders, united by music and the desire to make a difference, drafting the future of opera was an exciting experience. We are all eager to see how Project Butterfly will contribute to a more sustainable future in the performing arts and look forward to the performances.

Our former intern Weronika shares her experience at CUMEDIAE!

Image description

Hi everyone! My name is Weronika and I’m a 22-year-old Polish BA graduate in Social Policy and for three intensive months, I’ve been a Projects & Communication Intern at CUMEDIAE.

Thinking of my experience at CUMEDIAE I can proudly say that I learned a lot [...]! I came to Brussels with the hope of developing project-marketing skills, better understanding the mechanisms behind EU-funded projects, and also widening my professional contact network. It’s extremely satisfying to see that I managed to achieve it!

I believe that CUMEDIAE is a good place to do an internship if you’re willing to work or just interested in the culture industry. The agency supports various exciting projects and cooperates with many professional partners and institutions which allows you to get to know the environment better. The atmosphere in the office is very friendly and I could feel a sense of togetherness [...]. In total, I’m very happy with this experience. It’s been a true adventure and I can say that I’m already enjoying the fruits of it!
