Franklin Animal Shelter Quarterly Newsletter • Issue 2, 2024

View From the Shelter

Dear Friends of Franklin Animal Shelter,

As the first quarter draws to a close, I'm delighted to share some exciting news from the Franklin Animal Shelter!

Team Growth and Fostering Expansion:

We've made significant progress in rebuilding a strong and dedicated team. This translates directly to better care for our furry companions. You might notice a quicker turnaround for some of our dogs and cats finding their forever homes – a heartwarming development!

However, there's one special fellow, Bruce, who requires a specific family situation. We're committed to finding his perfect match, and that's where you come in!

I'm thrilled to announce the board's approval of our Foster Program. This program offers temporary loving homes for animals in need, easing the shelter environment and increasing their adoption chances. To make this a success, we urgently need volunteers, so please reach out if you can help.

The Franklin Animal Shelter has many demands to fund its charitable mission to care for and re-home the neglected, abused, abandoned, stray, and unwanted cats and dogs of the community.

The support of the community has always been critical to its success and will be even more critical as the Shelter grows. There are many ways to financially support FAS, including immediate one-time donations, memorial donations, pledged giving, deferred giving, volunteering, or donating an item from our Everyday Item Wish List.

We appreciate your generosity!

Community is Everything

The community that the Franklin Animal Shelter continues to be incredible, and we continue to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.  This edition we want to give a special shout-out to one amazing young man, Jayce Campbell.  Jayce made a donation to FAS in honor of his birthday this year, bringing us some great item for our furry friends. His generosity is so very appreciated and inspires others to honor animals in need. He also received a copy of the book, DogTown, the tale of shelter dogs with big dreams! Thank you Jayce, dream big and Happy Birthday!

Kandy is doing great!

We usually talk about an animal that has gone home, but this month we want to mention Kandy, who is still our guest at the Shelter.  Kandy was very skittish when she came to us, having spent some time as a stray under difficult circumstances.  Thanks to the tireless efforts of our staff, she has made great progress, growing more confident and becoming more social every day.  Instead of being afraid, she knows its safe to come to people for love and treats.  She is taking bold steps out into the yard and has started to play with her buddy Bruce.
