| The SEFI Fellowship Award recognises meritorious service to engineering education in Europe. Recepients of this award may use the expression “Fellow of SEFI” (F.SEFI) as a postscript to their name.
Individual members of SEFI working in the field of engineering education for at least five years can be nominated. You may recommend a colleague by sending a nomination letter addressed to [email protected] until 15 May 2024. |

The SEFI Francesco Maffioli Award is given by the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI) to individual teachers or teams of teachers from SEFI institutional members, in recognition of their innovative curriculum development, learning environments, or tools in engineering studies.

We celebrate SEFI SIG Ethics members Diana Martin (University College London) and Gunter Bombaerts (TU Eindhoven) who have been awarded the prestigious Best Formal Paper by Early Career Scholars at the 33rd annual conference of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics.

| Their research explored ethical decision-making processes in the context of real-life sociotechnical Challenge Based Learning projects, and identified frustration occurring for students at each project stage. As previous awards were conferred to US based researchers, this marks a rare acknowledgement of developments in engineering ethics education research conducted in Europe. The SEFI Ethics SIG community aims to support teachers and researchers interested in this topic. |

| The European Commission has adopted a package of ambitious proposals for Europe’s higher education sector, with the aim of working towards a European degree. The package contains 3 major components:
