Welcome to the April 2024 RDS Newsletter.  Happy Easter! It's time to spring clean the town, stroll through the forest and contemplate Romsey Future.

Spring Litter Pick

Saturday 13th April, 9:15am - 11:15am

We may not be able to do much directly to prevent littering but we can all come along to Crosfield Hall on Saturday 13th April to make the streets and windblown corners litter free for the start of summer.  Simply bring yourself and anyone else you can muster on the day.  All equipment is provided.

Put the date in your diary NOW and come along on the day.

A lovely 5 mile spring stroll south west of Brockenhurst, stopping half way for lunch at the Old Station Tea Rooms at Holmsley.

Annual Lecture

"Antibiotic Resistance - a public health time bomb: what can we do at the coal face?"

Thursday 16th May, Romsey Town Hall

The Lecture will be presented by Professor Paul Little, Professor of Primary Care Research at the Primary Care Research Centre, University of Southampton and former Romsey GP.

Refreshments are served from 19:00 for a 19:30 start.  

Everyone is welcome to attend to hear the latest on this fascinatingly important subject affecting us all.   It is however necessary to reserve your seats online at https://bit.ly/rdslecture so that we have the right number of chairs and refreshments.

South of Romsey Town Centre Plan

A meeting has been arranged for Members of Romsey and District Society on Monday 29th April at 6.00pm in the Upper Chamber of the Town Hall to discuss the South of Romsey Town Centre Masterplan. Officers from TVBC will explain the current proposals. The early start has been chosen to enable those members who may have other meetings that evening to still be able to attend if they wish.
