| Lovely riding weather... The spring-like temps make for pleasant rides through hunt country, but difficult hunting for the hounds. There is a possibility for rain later in the week along with somewhat cooler temps. Hopefully, that will improve the scenting!
**Please note the fixture change from Staver's to McGuire's on Wednesday.** THANK YOU to the juniors who served as staff during the junior hunt Saturday and the "regular staff" who allowed them to show what they know! |

| Spring Flint Hills Hunt—Joint Meet with FHH! – We will be hunting a mixed pack on our March 16 hunt in the Flint Hills, which will be a joint meet with the Flint Hills Hunt. This fixture provides an unparalleled opportunity to see the hounds work! We will depart from the north pasture (off 177 and DD, NOT near the house/shop). We will plan to meet at a local restaurant afterward. Junior Qualifier – The Junior North American Field Hunter Championship (JNAFHC) qualifier (during which juniors are evaluated by senior hunt members/staff) is this Saturday, March 9. (The JNAFHC Finals will be held at Rolling Rock Hunt in Ligonier, Pennsylvania on September 27th and 28th, 2024.) Please contact Joint MFH Candy Smith if your junior is interested in participating in either the junior hunt or the qualifier/championship. Closing Hunt – Sadly, it's just around the corner! PEASE RSVP! If you are able to help in any capacity (whoopie wagon, stirrup cup, etc.), please contact Lillian Davis. |

| A Local Access Credential (LAC) allows civilians to enter Fort Leavenworth without having to stop at the visitor center each time. Members needing to obtain or renew a LAC must complete the Applicant Information and Criminal History sections of the LAC application (click image to download) and submit it to Master Candy Smith. You may also email your info to Candy or provide it over the phone (913-948-0189) and she will complete the form for you. She will then submit it to the FMWR Director, who will sign it and forward it to the Visitor Center (VCC) for processing. Current processing time is 2.5–3 weeks. Renewing LAC holders, please note this is a new form. For those who need only temporary access to Ft. Leavenworth (for the hunt ball, for example), please register for a one-day pass online.
