As most of you know, FINA World Finals will be held in Anaheim,CA on July 27-28 at the Anaheim Convention Center as part of the Obstacle Sports Expo. How does an athlete qualify for Finals? Start at a FINA Qualifier course. Any athlete who fully clears a Qualifier course, Speed OR Endurance, is eligible to compete at Sectionals. Additionally, if an athlete earns enough points over the course of the season (21 Speed OR 31 Endurance), they will also qualify for Sectionals.
An athlete may compete at any Qualifier or Sectional they choose; you are not linked into a specific geographical region. We are working to try and spread out Sectionals across the States and countries as best we can, so everyone should have at least one within driving distance. We still have a few more to add, so keep watching our website!
We will be announcing at the end of this month how many finishers from each division at Sectionals we will be taking to Finals, and how an athlete can go from Sectionals to Finals. We want to take as many athletes as we possibly can without compromising the quality of the runs at FINA World Finals. More details will be coming for both Sectionals and Finals very soon, so keep an eye on your email!
